The seasonticket campaign

The Zaratè effect is already beginning to show off. A couple of days ago, Lotito called upon the fans and yesterday they gave a prompt answer. In the first day of the seasonticket subscriptions, approximately 600 have signed the renewal of their seasonticket. But it could have been even more. Many supporters got discouraged by waiting in the long lines in the extreme heat that is hanging over Rome these days. In any case the number of subscriptions in the first day of the campaign is considered a great approval by the fans of the initiatives taken by Lazio.

Also positive news with regards to the "Maglia del Derby". In the first day of the campaign, 70 seasonticket holders have reserved the precious jersey, that Delio Rossi´s squad will dress during the derby of the coming season. They have the right to have their name and last name printed on the back of this special jersey.

The subscribers of last season have until the 25th of July to renew their seasonticket, then their is the free sales until the 30th of August. But it is still not excluded that this date could be postponed, since Lazio is not playing their season debut in the Olimpico before the 14th of September.

The Trainingcamp: The squad needs to be cut down

Zauri is moving towards Fiorentina: "It is my first choice" he said. The Viola are ready to pay 3.5 million Euros. Bonetto is moving towards Livorno in a coownership deal (today could prove to be the decisive day in finding an agreement between the two clubs) and Spinesi´s club is also said to be interested in Belleri. The work to cut down the Lazio squad has begun, but it´s still only the beginning and there are only a week to the departure for the trainingcamp. Furthermore no operations have yet been finalized.

There is a group of 11 players, who does not know what awaits them. For them there is no space. They are the laziali in redundancy. Lazio have one week to place them on the market or decide what else to do with them. The problem being: In the trainingcamp, Delio Rossi is not able to manage 40 players, not even 30.

The Lazio that is travelling to Auronzo di Cadore will be consisting of 20 players, 3 goalkeepers and 4-5 youth players that will be part of the group. The rest will be ordered to remain in Formello together with a trainer and a physical coach.

These are the leftouts: Belleri, Bonetto, the two big names Zauri and Mutarelli, then Berni, Correa, Quadri, Greco and Artipoli (the latter is the one with the biggest chance of being called for Auronzo di Cadore) In addition there are the problematic cases, which involves Baronio´s and Inzaghi´s "million euro contracts". They could be offered to have their contracts terminated, but such an operation is not simple.

Then there are two other big names, namely Stendardo and Foggia, who are both being considered. Rossi has not put a veto on their inclusion in the squad, but they both remain on the transfermarket. If they are not sold before the 12th of July, they could be included in the final squad travelling to Auronzo di Cadore.

Then there is the group that represents the new Lazio. It consists of the goalkeepers Carrizo, Muslera and Degrè. The defensive line is Siviglia, Cribari, Radu, Rozenhal, Diakitè, Kolarov and De Silvestri (the last two are both called for the Olympics) The Lazio midfield is completed by Ledesma, Dabo, Mudingayi, Firmani, Mauri, Manfredini and Meghni. The attacking frontline is consisting of Pandev, Zarate, Makinwa and Rocchi (he has been called for the Olympics too) Del Nero is injured and will not be able to travel to Auronzo di Cadore (he will re-enter the group in September.

There are more problems for Lazio. Since Sabatini has left the club, it´s up to Lotito to cut down the squad, while waiting to make the new Sports Director official. For the President it´s a race against time. There is an entire squad that is not in system. The solutions are difficult to find in only one week. And half through next week, the medical examinations will start and the answers to all the questions must be found.

Marco Ballotta doesn´t have these problems. He has closed his chapter with Lazio and has received an inquiry from a Serie A club from the North of Italy(not further specified). For sure he wants to play on. "As long as there is the will and determination to keep working, I will always be there. If something is moving and the offer is good, I will go. If then there is the posibillity to play somewhere near my home in Reggio Emilia, it would be good"

President Lotito introduces, with a bit of controversy, the presentation of the goalkeeper. "This morning Carrizo was picked up in the airport by Manzini and he has not released any interviews. I have to say with regret, that some people think they are clever, but they are not". It seems as if the Presidents phrase was intended to deny a tv interview (which many journalists had tried to get already in the airport).

The preliminary introduction then proceeded like this: "Carrizo is now here to reveal why he has chosen Lazio. I don´t want to say much more, because today is his moment". A moment of silence, then Lotito carries on and underlines: "We have gotten an argentine intepreter and she is also a Lazio fan, this in order to avoid that what the player is saying could be misinterpreted" In reality though, the biggest difficulty was to try and understand what the intepreter was saying.
