When we look at the teams in upcoming Calcio, we can all agree it gonna be tight next season.

In the top flight its clear: Intermilan , A.C Milan , Juventus (1,2,3 they have the 11 + 11 subs to cover a season)

Some of u might think if we can beat inter in supercoppa then we might be able to pull a top 4 easily, but if u look at the current teams competing for a top 4 this season u will be scared.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Genoa
lets Start with the Genoa, plenty left and many came, they have been able to come up with a good squad so far.

Squad
- Mattia Perin G ------------------- 11 Stephan El Shaarawi M
1 Danilo Russo G -------------------17 Bosko Jankovic M
32Marco Amelia G ------------------- 20 Giandomenico Mesto M
73 Alessio Scarpi G ------------------- 21 Zapater M
- Magnus Troest D ------------------- 23 Francesco Modesto M
4 Domenico Criscito D ------------------- 28 Ivan Juric M
13 Ivan Fatic D ------------------- 36 Francesco Bolzoni M
15 Sokratis Papastathopoulos D ------------------- 77 Omar Milanetto M
16 Andrea Esposito D ------------------- 8 Rodrigo Palacio F
24 Emiliano Moretti D ------------------- 9 Hernán Crespo F
25 Giuseppe Biava D ------------------- 10 Raffaele Palladino F
26 Salvatore Bocchetti D ------------------- 14 Giuseppe Sculli F
40 Nenad Tomovic D ------------------- 30 Luciano Gabriel Figueroa F
5 Houssine Kharja M ------------------- 33 Sergio Floccari F
7 Marco Rossi M ------------------- - Gian Piero Gasperini C

------------------------------------Marco Amelia

Giuseppe Biava---------------Sokratis Papastathopoulos-----------Domenico Criscito--------Emiliano Moretti

--------------------------Zapater-------------Houssine Kharja---------------Giandomenico Mesto

----------------------------------------------------Raffaele Palladino

-------------Rodrigo Palacio---------------------------------Hernán Crespo

With a decent Goalkeeper and a Good attack i think they will be able to fight in top 6 but not top 4.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fiorentina

Squad
1 Sebastien Frey G ------------------- 4 Marco Donadel M

Gianluca Comotto---------------Alessandro Gamberini---------------Marco Donadel----------Manuel Pasqual

Marco Marchionni----------------Riccardo Montolivo-------------Cristiano Zanetti---------------------Juan Manuel Vargas

Same old Fiorentina but with the addition of zanetti and Marchionni i think there mid-field is stronger, top4 is what they be aiming for sure.

------------------------------Fabio Quagliarella----------------------------------Lavezzi

If it wasnt for danadoni coaching i would put this team as a scudetto hunter + they dont seem to have very good subs... top 4 would be reachable

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roma

Squad
12 Pietro Pipolo G ------------------- 14 Ricardo Faty M
25 Artur G -------------------16 Daniele De Rossi M

32 Doni G ------------------- 20 Simone Perrotta M

Same team as last season without Aquilani-Panucci

Top 6 is reachable, yet i dought they will pass us in the table

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next is what i think the teams that will try and break but dont realy think they will :

Palermo - Sampadoria - Udinese

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So what do think ?????? Post ure view on these squads and Please come up with best formations Lazio can play this season

Note: sqaud tactics are just a quick sketch, players maybe off there normal places :P, sorry Very Happy

1- Inter (most perfect in formations and subs, still lacking a good AM)
2- Milan( all depends on how leonardi plays it)
3- Juve (center back problems, good attack)

4-Napoli(If donadoni turned out to be a diffrent coach then when he coached italy, i think they can do wonders, solid starting 11)
5-Fiorentina(excellent starting 11 + the midfield is stronger then last season)
6-Lazio Very Happy

7-Roma
8-Genoa
9-Samp

10- Palermo
11- Udinese

Very good topic AbedElkader. I agree with you on the teams and calcio. From that list Genoa seems to have done wonders. They give their best players and build completely new team ready to attack to the top 6 this season. Well Lazio has the same story, we have try to sell our best players but our mercato so far is nothing special.

However I think Lazio will end probably from 6-10 position and that maybe is expected coz we change literally our hole 11 from year to year and I think that this is the reason why we can't give our maximum. If you ask me that is the lack of long-term strategy of Lazio management.

I can't wait for season to begin.

Good topic AbedElkader.

I voted for top 6 and Europe.

Although our rivals have all strengthened well, they have also lost some important players. Lazio haven't had the best mercato but its been alright. Buying Zarate and Matuzalem fully are 2 very good deals. Carizzo has gone out on loan. Eliseu, Cruz and Bizzarri came very cheap (or free) and offer Ballardini good options. If Lotito can retain Ledesma then that's more than welcome. For me to say Lazio had a very good mercato there needs to be one solid, reliable central defender brought in, and a midfielder (or Ledesma stays). Along with that, selling or loaning out some deadwood and fixing the dissidenti's situation would be a dream come true.

Genoa have had a very good mercato and although they have lost key figures, they have brought in quality replacements. They have also managed to keep hold of Criscito which is great news for them. They will be aiming for a top 6 finish no doubt but I also think the loss of Milito and Motta to Inter could prove too much. Crespo isn't as prolific as he used to be, Palacio is not proven in Europe, and Floccari had a fantastic season with Atalanta last year but who knows if he will be able to replicate that form again. I doubt any one of them will get 20+ goals this season.

Fiorentina have strengthened their midfield well, and Napoli have also made some very good purchases. Udinese have held onto D'Agostino and if they can recapture their early, and late form, from last year then I think they will be serious contenders for a top 6 finish. Sampdoria and Palermo, as always, are dark horses as they can have a good season, as much as they can have an awful one. I also feel Milan will struggle this season unless they make some unbelievable signings over the next 2 weeks. Huntelaar is a very good acquisition. They will probably still get a top 4. It's Milan after all. Rioma? Relegation would be nice! Very Happy

As in with the current squad we're not a top 6 side. Inter Juve Milan Fiorentina Napoli roma all have stronger sides while Genoa and Palermo had a much better transfer season than we had we should expect to fight it out with them and Sampdoria with the current squad.

Inter and Juve should have the first two positions sewn up.

I have severe doubts about Milan, Fiorentina and Genoa.

Losing Kaka, Ancelotti and Maldini is too much for Milan; Pirlo and Gattuso are also past their best and a defence of Thiago Silva and Onyewu is worse than what we have. Fiorentina can cope without Melo but their defence is shambolic at times and how they managed to come in the Top 4 last season is beyond me. Genoa had a great team that relied heavily on Motta and Milito; they are irreplaceable and I expect them to plummet.

Dark horses? Rioma can get back in that Top 4 just by being resilient and quiet, Palermo have a squad who could set the league alight and squeak in while Napoli have a very, very competent squad now. Sampdoria's frontline will cause problems and if their defence holds up, Top 6 might be on the cards.

If we don't get drained by the Europa League, Top 6 is a real possibility and maybe even Top 4 with a lot of luck. However, going deep into the Europa League and making a fist of the Coppa and coming in the Top 8, 9 should be our objective.

Top 6 will be the aim.

I would rather a great run in the Europa than in the Coppa.

We need to restore our European Pride. Get our Coifficent up.

We should be able to get by Elfsborg, and should have enough to get by the group, then its the last 32, were the CL teams come in, and from there on, anything can happen.

If we take into consideration how some other teams have been doing during the summer, I would say we should be happy only to make progress when compared to last season.

However, I feel that if we manage to sign a new contract with Ledesma, get rid of Pandev and bring in a proper central defender, and maybe also a good attacking option, sell De Silvestri and maybe purchase a solid midfielder, we might be fighting for top 6.

As it looks right now, I dont think we have become any stronger in any part of the pitch, and therefore we shouldnt expect better than a mid-table finnish. Again.

The only brightness, in my opinion, is the new Mister and Muslera. And that Zarate acually did stay with us...

im very optimistic by personality so i hope and i want Lazio to be in 4th in Serie A and win the European League :p

...but i must say that our squad doesnt look so optimistic and i think that now is much weaker than the last year...the only new bright spot i think is Balardini.
if i compare all clubs by the value of the players i think Lazio is in the middle - 10th ...but i think that if we r lower than 6th and do nothing in the European League that will be disaster!

i like to mention again that i want 4th in Seria A and winning the European League :p (but for that we will need all the luck in the world and 200% agility of our players) but this is my real view of the Serie A:

1.Inter
2.Juve
(from 3 to 7): Roma,Fiorentina,Genoa,Napoli,Milan
(from 8 to 10): Sampdoria,Lazio,Palermo

I honestly think we can end up anywhere from 5-10 on the table. I think if we can avoid injury on key players and find som stability then we can aproach top 5. Our goal for the season though must be to qualify for europe again.

I feel, like a number of other sides, we can finish anyware from 4th to 10th in the league. If we are solid at home we will gain confidence and be dangerous. Going deep in the Europa league should be a priority and it is possible to do well on all fronts if momentum is maintained. Again with Elisue, Cruz, Bizzari quality has been added.

Despite their poor pre season I still feel Milan will have a role to play in the Scudetto race, but Inter and Juve are rightly favourites. Fiorentina and unfortunately Rioma will probably fight for the fourth place, perhaps higher if they can build momentum from the start.

A number of people seem to think Genoa look weaker. True loosing Milito and Motta is a blow, but reinforcements like Floccari, Crespo, Zapater, Palacio, Amelia and Moretti should see them well in the mix for a Europa league place. Napoli have done great in the market, but will their team gel? There was a real confidence crisis their last season, and dressing room unrest, and who is to say that will not happen again. Palermo may well be the team to watch, they have built upon the quality that they already have. Pastore could well be a revelation this season, and Cavani perhaps does not get the praise he deserves.

I feel Sampdoria and Udinese will be able to take points off anyone as well, both teams had rich periods of form last season where they showed what they really could do, taking some big scalps in the process. If they are consistent, they will be dangerous. Cagliari also will be no mugs again. The signing of Nene is inspired and aside from Acquafresca they have kept hold their key players, Matri, Biondini, Jeda etc.

Relegation battle wise Livorno may struggle, Bari will more than likely go straight back down unless their buyout concludes and funds arrive, Bologna may suffer especially if Di Vaio is injured. Parma should survive, looking forward to see more of Paloshi. Catania and Atalanta should survive comfortably.

Very interesting season on the cards. Forza Lazio.

Europe is going to costs us points (if we get there), so I predicted somewhere between 6th & 10th. If we get into the top 5 this year, that would be a great result for us, regardless the Coppa & EL.

Lazio will finish between 6th and 10th in the league without doubt. How could we not. We have to. Lower position would be a total disappointment. Any position higher than that would be like winning the Scudetto for me.

Looking way ahead to the future. We badly need to improve our Coifficent points, so a good run this year in The Europa League would be great.

If we were to qualify for the CL some season soon, and our Coifficent is bad, it could be a big ask.

So a good sun in Europe is extremley important.
