radu great great game today and recently
eliseu at least a beautiful assist, no comments.

Why do you say that Radu had a great game today and recently...are you from Romania scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch
Wink (he was our best player)

i am not blind. i've seen most of the games recently, and from what i've seen, radu has improved a lot comparing to last season. promising!

nice one-on-one tackle, pinpoint long pass, his efforts on the field has just been telling recently.

It was more an answer to someone who said that before you...i was ironic, but not with you. I think u missunderstood ..you were right with what u said. Someone blamed me for praising Radu because he`s from Romania and...

Baronio's sending off should never have happened. He flings his arm out, completely misses the player behind him,the ref see's villa player clutching his face like he has been punched and pulls out the red card. The ref didnt see nothing,he gave that card judging on villa players reaction,it was on his blind side.Outright cheating.Something has to be done.

IMO thats what fucked us.

Going down to 10 men after 4 minutes and already being 1-0 down....what could anyone have expected?

Baronio as an experienced guy who also happens to be our captain should have never threw his hand towards an opponent.. that is something you cant do.. and you should expect to get a red card for doing so. I dont blame the Villareal as they need to make the most of such cases. Baronio reacted like a kid and deserved the red!!

Just saw the highlights, our defense looked like Swiss Cheese. Only chances I saw from lazio were Foggia penalty and Zarate goal. Damn man.

Maybe because the highlights sucked?

I agree that the result is really sh*t and does not help us quality at all (especially as fucking RB got ANOTHER late, late goal against Levski in Sofia in the 92nd minute with literally less than 20 seconds to go!). No

Some of these comments are a bit harsh though IMO. Tonight was really bad but also left many what ifs and maybes. Had Lazio taken some of their chances then we could have had a completely different outcome.

Had Rocchi scored in the 40th second of the match then I bet the match and result would have been different - but instead a minute later Pires puts the ball past Bizzarri from maybe 30-40 metres (again bad defending and keeping). Baronio gets a non-existant red card (I really hope Llorente is injured following him trying to stop Kolarov - what a prick) and the ref handed out yellow cards to Lazio like fucking birthday invitations.

From then on it was really always going to be down hill for Lazio with 10 men. Their 1st penalty was pretty questionable IMO but nonetheless the ref gave it. The ref was a complete and utter wanker. I can't remember the last time a ref was so blatantly bad it was unbelievable.

Foggia's penalty could have been really, really useful, and especially with 10 minutes left before halftime to boost the teams confidence. Damn. Why didn't Rocchi take it? Second half was better but unfortunately only 1 goal was scored even though there were several good chances.

Overall the defending was sh*t but its hard to put the blame entirely on that considering Lazio played with 10 men from the 4th minute onwards. Can't the club protest Baronio's card or something? The fire power was pretty trap as well. I though Radu did pretty well though, and Eliseu to an extent.

As for the tactics Ballardini made I'm still not too sure what to think of them. Bringing on Zarate and Kolarov was a good idea but should have been put on earlier. When Makinwa came on I didn't know what to think. First appearance of the season. At least the guy is pretty quick and pacey.

I'm really disappointed and annoyed with the result, not so much the performance though (although I'm not saying it was brilliant either). No one really had a good game but there were players that were trying hard to get something going. Sadly most of the team wasn't up to the task again. The ref unfortunately had a big part to play but its not entirely him.

Don't know what to make of it all. Lazio's situation is getting worse every week and we have Milan in a few days time. As for the Europa League, its not looking good either. RB need 1 more point I think from their next 2 games. Villarreal now have a better head to head record with Lazio. We aren't out, but we certainly aren't in. For Lazio to have any chance of progressing - firstly the game in Austria must be won which won't be straight forward.

Second this post.

The first 10 minutes were a nightmare for us. Everything gone wrong and then also Foggia missed that penalty. Baronio was certainly not a red card, Llorente fell like he was being killed.

Anyway it might have been different, even Pires admitted it.
Quote :
Pirčs did not want the contribution of goalkeeper Diego López, who was substituted in the second half with a thigh injury, to be overlooked. "He saved us from a very complicated situation with that one-on-one stop against Tommaso Rocchi because if you go 1-0 down at home on a night like this so very early then it's a problem," confirmed the 36-year-old. "Then take into account that we scored very quickly thereafter and almost directly after that there was the red card [Roberto Baronio] so you can see what an impact Diego's save had."

We dominated the end of the game and nearly scored twice but Villarreal got a penalty from their first attack.

It will be very very hard to come back now but Salzburg is not as strong as their results show and we certainly can beat them if we play well. Levski at home is also a game we can win so its possible. The biggest shame would be if we won those two matches and didn't qualify.

Let's be honest, if it was a Lazio player he would have overreacted too, most likely. And Baronio shouldn't be trying to slap people in the first place, period.

baronio has fault for trying to hit llorente and the rule book says it - if you try to hurt an opponent you are sent off. that is it.. it's another thing that the ref could have passed it i've seen much more dangerous situations. their first pk was bull smelling as. our first goal - bizzari should have reacted better IMO as the ball fell on the ground at least 1.5 meters in front of him

red bull stepped of the gas in the recent games and the game against levski showed it - they were playing a man more for 30 mins and scored due to a gk mistake, and they won against us using our 2 mistakes, so if we close them properly in the back we can win it

levski game at home? 3+ for us for sure hope that villa can beat red bull

Before you start doubting my head maybe you should first have an idea about the rules of the beautiful game then maybe we can have a discussion. You still haven't came up with any valid reasons why Blondie shouldn't have been sent off. He threw his hands towards an opponent and you can't simply do that, irrelevant of how Lorente made it look, everyone would do that its a way to get the attention of the referee every Lazio player would have done that. Baronio showed frustration and you can't expect a senior professional to do that, he lost it and got what he deserved. End of story.

Im not defending Baronio I think he's a prick but c'mon man you see players getting away with a yellow card for far worse than this sh*t.

I'll say it again, the ref didnt see nothing but that dick clutching his face. That villa players acting should not be ignored, the cheating ....!

If the ref didn't see Baronio trying to hit Lorente (or whoever it was), he wouldn't have sent him off, even if Lorente had pretended to be dead.

Sadly, soccer is becoming more and more like a Hollywood, players tend to make the best thing out of this, especially if it means sending off for another team... and Llorente did very well.. As for Baronio, he shouldn't have tried to hit someone in the 1st place..

We played bad imo, the 1st goal should/could have been prevented, wrong judgement from Bizzarri, then the second goal, our defender gave so much space for Cani to shoot, he had no pressure watsoever when he kicked that goal, then the dubious penalty, the game well entrully overs by then..

I guess that my head is a mess as well. Baronio desirved that red card. Let`s look at out previous matches... how many red cards we get ? Plenty. How many red cards did Baronio get ? 2 or 3 (i`m talking about this season). Not to mention yellow ones.
I like Baronio..i preffer him insted of that money-idiot-throw-away-matches-for-money-Ledesma. But we can all see the tension that is in our camp. 1-0 ...red card in 5 mins ? Something is wrong. Very wrong. They can explode at any moment..don`t be surprised if they start to fight while they are training.

I saw many posts that blames the ref. Isnt it weired that in every game we say "stupid ref" (even i said that a couple of times) ? Think about it.

You have to admit there have been some dubious reds... well at least the two baronio has seen. But, I'm with you, we can't blame the ref for our position in the table.

It's the consistency that is the problem. Personally and bias aside, I find Llorente's actions more deserving of a red card but it appears to me that refs have been told to clamp down on certain behaviour. Some very harsh red cards being issued across Europe this season; abnormally so.

The intent was there from Baronio though. Thats the worrying part.
