PostSubject: Times are tough...   Thu Dec 03, 2009 6:07 am

Does anyone remember the 1980's? THOSE were tough times. Tougher than anything I've seen with Lazio.

The 1980's were dreadful.

The year was 1986. There was no internet. There was no email. There was no long distance calling unless you wanted to pay a fortune. Lazio were in a struggle to fight off relegation to Serie C. We needed two playoff wins JUST to survive. In two years...we were back to A. We made it. Gianmarco Callero!

Times are tough...

I am not happy with our team. I am not happy with our position in Seire A. I am not happy with our exit out of Europe. I am not happy with our owner. I am not happy with our coach. I am not happy about our defense. I am not happy about our attack. I am not happy about Pandev. I am not happy about our lack of money.

Times are tough...

BUT...I am proud. I saw us lift the Scudetto. I lived through Crag. I lived through a few "scandals." I will live through this.

I am happy to support Lazio each and every game. I am happy to be a part of the 1st and true club of Rome. I am happy to be in this chatroom typing this message about the football team I care most about.

It is NOW that we must dig in, accept the facts, and remember who we are and why we support Lazio. Win, lose or draw, I promise you...I PROMISE YOU..we will return to glory one day.

And when we do...we will all look back at this time and the stories will be even more dramatic than they are now and will cheers, toast and talk about how we lived through Lotito, fought off relegation, made it back to Serie A, and how we never gave up.

Non Mollare Mai and Happy Early Holidays you crazy lot

That post was a breath of much needed fresh air. One of the best posts I've seen in LF and I couldn't have put it any better myself.

We will come back. With a bang.

It's not a "feel sorry for us" post. Feeling sorry and moping around isn't going to change our scenario. The point is, we HAVE to accept this is where present day Lazio is. It doesn't mean we can't turn it around and survive Serie A, but it means accepting the fact that we can't afford to go out and BUY perfect players for each position. We're not going to be able to compete with Inter for the Scudetto. It doesn't mean we can't challenge them in a match, beat them, etc. It just means that we don't have the fire power or resources CURRENTLY to be a Scudetto challenger for the entire season. Most teams don't have those resources. So, look at the roster. Look at the owner. Look at the Coach. THIS IS OUR REALITY IN THE PRESENT.

I'm not saying you have to like it. I don't. BUT...I've accepted it. I still root for Lazio every time we play as if were were 10 points clear in the Scudetto race. I also get mad when we lose games like yesterday. I still think we should pick up player X and drop player Y. I still think this formation is better than that formation. This is all healthy. This is all normal...but we also have to WAKE UP.

WAKE UP!

It's reality. We can protest, we can voice our opinions and we don't have to accept the fact that our players piss away chances on the pitch, aren't proud, etc.

IT WILL CHANGE. BUT...right now...change has not come. BUT IT WILL.

Do people remember when Crag came? We had just returned to Serie A and people were like...who is this guy? We forget that Crag came in and bailed us out. He pumped money into this club like none of us had ever seen. WE were the present day Chelsea. Well, that time has come and gone. We've had good years and some lousy years. BUT...WE'RE HERE!!!!! We're stuck with Lotito. Until something like the above happens again, we're stuck with Lotito. Doesn't mean you have to like him, support him, or care about him one way or another. We're STUCK with him. So, for the time being...We are stuck NOT knowing what result to expect each week. It's frustrating. It's not easy. It's annoying. BUT... Lazio is not going implode. Die. Disappear. We may get relegated. We may not. We may have a hell of a transfer session, we may be stuck with the same team we have now in 2010 / 2011...but right now...this is US.

Times are tough. Suck it up. Deal with it. Keep cheering for Lazio. Keep voicing your opinion, support or rage....just show up and support Lazio.

Forza Lazio.

WE DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT THIS SITUATION!!

Lotito is only in power for as long as he can afford to be - do not kid yourselves!! If Lazio would be losing money at an astronomical rate then Lotito would be the first rat to leave the ship.

There is a tax plan - it´s not going to change.
There is a fan base.
Lazio is a capital team and not the capital of Bulgaria (or sweden for that matter).

This is not a provinsial team. We deserve a management with heart and brain - lotito has neither.

Centro, I'm not arguing with you.

Fact is, Lotito IS our current owner. He calls the shots. I don't. You don't. I'm not saying you have to like it. I most certainly do not. BUT...we have to realize that right now...THIS is our squad, our coach, our owner...is it not? That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying you have to like it. I agree w/ you that Lazio deserves better management and I wish we had a better owner...but we don't.

Simply put...this is our team. Like it or not.

Regardless, I will be here, each week, rooting for Lazio, hoping for the best and waiting...WAITING for things to change. I will try and do my part, but I will also accept the fact that as of today...this is my Lazio. Doesn't mean I have to like it...but I support the club and the badge.
