Lotito is even considering including Ledesma again. He is afraid of losing much money in case of relegation. So I see him getting a coach who speaks up for himself, even if it's only for some months.

ZICO!

He is the absolute most successful coach of all available and unemployed, but again Lotito is the problem and would never get him

Zico is a successful coach? He won in Asia with Japan, in Turkey and Russia. You might think there is a reason he never coached a team in Spain, Italy, England or Germany, not even France or Portugal.

Trap of course would be number 1 choice, but i'd be satisfied with Reja.

Economically, Fenerbahce, Dynamo and Olympiakos are bigger clubs than Lazio and play the Champions League, so why are you beeing such an ass?

chill m8. We can all disagree without being personal here right? Wink

I see your point in that Zico has coached all these teams which in terms of economy are larger than Lazio. Zico has won quite a lot too but his point is also valid that Zico has not been really tested in any of the top 3 leagues of England, Spain, and Italy.

Reja would be suitable as he's an experienced coach. Or Zoff if he would come back. He has taken us out of similar situations before.

Why are you getting personal right away? I mentioned some reasons and facts why I think he is the wrong coach. What's your reaction? Go figure.

Zico hasn't done anything quite good with all the clubs he has managed and isn't ready to coach a team from the big leagues.

According to the radios at the moment the favorite is Reja. I hope he's the new coach. Tough guy, pragmatic and already experienced in heavy waters and tough cities. Exactly what we need.

If on the other hand we get Arrigoni, we are automatically relegated. I can't understand how some people here would welcome him. Basically another Ballardini, with a terrible form (sacked countless and countless times).

Well said, however many coaches in Italy seem to have been sacked countless times. I have never seen a country where a coach actually coaches a team three times in one season. That's actually Italian style, quite impressive. At times a sack doesn't tell the whole story about the quality of a coach. I would also say Reya is a good choice, but we should only sign him until the summer.

It happens everywhere.

I mean, Arrigoni, Ballardini and Allegri have all pulled off fantastic achievements at Cagliari, yet the latter is considered one of the best in Italy by many while the other two are laughed at here.

All these coaches are decent, some are more decent than others but we need someone who can work with what we have.

We need someone who can work peacefully under Lotito for 4-5 months, lift these players spirits, keep things tight and unified. Essentially, I want someone who is up for the battle.

So I really want a Delio Rossi, pre-Lazio. I want Novellino because he has managed to get 4 teams promoted from B which shows that he excels with a good side and he also managed to keep Samp in A by almost qualifying for the CL. That's enough for me.

I have to agree with Conn though; Reja is sufficient out of all the linked managers and while I think Arrigoni would be popular, he could be suicidal.

My choice? Walter Novellino. The best of a bad lot.

Walter Novellino is half the reason why Reggina find themselves on the verge of Serie C rather than fighting for promotion back to A.

My first choice is Trap. If Trap is unavailable as I'd assume, then get Reja.

The only other city in Italy with as much 'pressure' as Roma is Napoli and Reja thrived in this atmosphere for a long time. My only concern is that he worked with a side on the rise. Taking a team from Serie C to UEFA Cup is one thing, saving a ruined side from relegation another. But I think he can do it.

Arrigoni has no credential at all which could mean he is a good coach for Lazio. To clarify, he was about to take the Padova job and they are 19th in Serie B. Cristiano Bergodi has gone there instead I think.

My favourite would be Trapattoni but realistically, Reja. He has experience, balls and doesn't take trap from anyone.

I'd like to have Spalletti from Zenit, although some of you may disagree, but I rate him among top 5 coaches from Italy..

Trap would also be good, but very unlikely, Lotito will hire someone who would listen to him, so based on that, don't expect someone with such personality..

cmon, get real... no doubt that spaletti is a world class coach, and i don't even mind he was a merda once... but the idea of Lotito stealing Spaletti from Zenit, a club that paid 30 million euro for a Danny Miguel Alves, is impossible for me...

Looks like it'll be Edy Reja. With luck it'll be announced today. Contract til 2011 worth 1 million euro.
