Looks like it'll be Edy Reja. With luck it'll be announced today. Contract til 2011 worth 1 million euro.

And also with luck his arrival will be accompanied by reintegration of Ledesma. So bye bye Ballardini and I can't say thanks for the memories.

It really looks like that it will be Reja. Not the best, but a good solution.

on football-italia.net stands that Balla was sacked by phonecall last night....is this right?

I honestly think he will go down as our worst coach ever. OK there have been some others who have got some shiite results too, but I don't think anyone has had such a lack of balls and a lack of respect towards the fans and the city as he has.

Maybe an older laziale can think of someone from many many years ago, but in my time Davide is the worst.

and as much as I don't like him, sacking someone by phone shows a complete lack of class. Bravo preside'.

There wasn't anyone worse since 96 at least, actually I read somewhere that this is the worst season in the last 25 years. Mind you we had better and worse squads than this, but as you said there was never such a lack of balls and fight.

Ballardini got off easy (if true, but I think he wasn't sacked over the phone). Last year Dinamo Zagreb's executive vice-president fired the coach by tossing him out of a parked bus and telling him to go fuck his mother.

Now if Lotito can get rid of Tare as well and replace him with a real D.S. in Pierpaolo Marino we could be run like a professional football club at least, or is that too much to ask???

I don't really see a man of Reja's temperament being a bitch to Lotito and I don't see Lotito paying more compensation for firing a manager so watch this space....

if you're suggesting what I think you are, that Ballardini may at some stage return this season, then we're talking about a nightmare of epic proportions.

Reja got the clearance ot leave Hajduk Split, he's headed to Rome and is about to have a first meeting with the players this afternoon. So a definite bye bye to Balla, and a warm welcome to Reja.

There's just one line connecting Croatia and Rome and he missed it.

I think either Trap or Edy will be a good fit for us at this point in time...A wise and experienced person at the helm that knows the vigors of italian football..

Ballardini wasn't cut out to coach a club like Lazio..he is a mediocre coach..lack of innovation...lack of synergy...whether you put that down completely to Balla...or to Balla and Lotito..it doesn't matter...there is an obvious lack of synergy between what Balla wants his players to do and what the players think they are supposed to do...He has totally ruined Zarate..Foggia...Ledesma..All our creative spark..The team reaks of staleness across the whole pitch...

We need a new coach to bring back dicipline and innovation..this is the only way to survive this hole we are in...
