Yep, I'm still rooting for Irlanda

what's that? huh? fucking frog, somebody should have told me sooner...

good luck to everyone who made the world cup because they weren't cheated out of a place

(I know that is not strictly the case).

By the way, there's a load of companies offering freebies here and competitions at the precise point France get dumped out

It better happen.

On tomorrow night's fixtures:

I expect Mexico to dispatch the hosts easily and I suspect the winner of the later tie will make the quarter-finals. That game is of huge significance because the draw for the Group A sides beyond is the easiest progression for me.

VAMOS CHARRUA

I'd consider supporting Nando against Italy and Australia honestly....OK I probably wont turn my back on my country but Lazio always gives you that special sense of pride

Haha, hope Nando keeps the French out tonight.

Wish those damn horns would shut up...

Thought the champions were supposed to open the tournament?

Nah they changed it 4 years ago. Germany opened it and I guess its fitting that South Africa do that here.

Don't mind the vuvuzelas tonight. The Aussie commentary team has to be the worst in the world so I prefer the sound of the horns.

And yes.... daje Muslera.

Was that a call for offside?! There was a RSA player on the first post so that can't be offside - maybe handball?

Vuvuzelas suck ass.

Clear offside. Keeper came out, was only one RSA player behind Vela.

What sucks ass is this Jabulani ball.

Firstly, The assistant from Uzbekistan who got that should be streamlined to the WC final for that call. What a call.

Sile, two opposition players have to be behind the ball for it to be onside. The goalkeeper counts as a defender and Vela had advanced ahead of him when the ball was flicked on. Offside.

That Jabulani ball is moving around, way, way, way, way, way too much. 45 mins in and I fear for this tournament.

The best refs I have seen in a long long time. I very rarely praise them, but this Uzbeki guy, with his assistants, have had a great night tonight...

I would guess ball; it looked light out there to say the least.

Agree about refs.

Fair result. Great goal from Tshabalala. Mexico had 3 points if they took their chances but honestly, they didn't do enough.

I expected mexico to win it but they made too many misses. RSA could have taken it in the end. Great refs! should give them another game!

Main ball problem seemed to be that it always flew too far on long diagonal balls in the air, unless it is just that everyone on show was pretty lame at that skill?!!!

I think South Africa needed a win from this game to build their confidence for the two remaining matches, you saw how much they improved after a goal but they needed the 3 points to improve for what could be their harder games, depending which France show up.

Mexico were the same as against England the other week, good in possession but when their passing goes amiss, as it did after SA scored, then they look ordinary. Why did they sub Aguilar who looked decent? That Juarez was their worst player, and Torrado lost the plot with his passing pretty quickly. Fatty Blanco shouldn't be included just cos he's a legend.

Great goal by Tshabalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala...
