I have been watching Italy since USA 1994 and never before have I felt going into a World Cup that they do not have a quality chance to win. That selection is so predictable, conservative and mediocre that it really drains that energy before a World Cup. There is no inspiration in the team at all. Looks like Lippi will stick to his wretched and embaressing 433 when the 4312 has worked better. Some of those players have not played much at all and some of them that have played have been awful.

The only two forwards from this team that are worth taking to WC are Pazzo and Di Natale

Neither will start and both aren't necessarily going to make the final cut.

Candreva and Grosso dropped. Good.

Now 28 remain. Hopefully the next one will be Pepe and after that, who knows...

After RSA 2010 Italy will have a new coach....and his name? Cesare Prandelli! I think this is a smart move for gli Azzuri and the future.

I also like this decision. Prandelli mixes youth with experience well and will no doubt get rid of players like Zambrotta, Gattuso and maybe even Pirlo and bring in the likes of Miccoli, Cassano, Giovinco and maybe De Silvestri.

As for the final WC 2010 squad, Lippi has dropped Sirigu, Bocchetti, Cossu, Quagliarella and Borriello.

Sorry the information I found yesterday was wrong. Its officially Cassani and Rossi dropped, instead of Bocchetti and Quagliarella from what I can gather.

Yep...the first reports said that Quag had been dropped, today he is in again and Rossi is out.

Just back from the game Mexico-Italy played here in Brussels.game ended 2-1,goals: 6' Vela 1-0, 83' Medina 2-0, 88' Bonucci 2-1
The game started good with a header on the crossbar for Italy, but a minute later vela scored a nice goal. After the goal Mexico had total controle, they played really good football with nice combintions. In the second half italy again started well but after a few attacks Mexico again got controle.Medina sored the 2-0 for mexico and after that goal Italy finaly started to play witch resulted in a goal by Bonucci.
I personaly think that the defense is to old(Cannavoro and Zambrotta). And in the midfield Pirlo was really disapointing.
Here some pics:
The warming up

Italy 1 Mexico 2 - oh dear, looks like we may be right about the state of the Azzurri... comfortable win for Mexico by all accounts. This also brought to an end an 8 match Italian unbeaten run and 6 wins and 4 draws against this opposition.

Edit: wow, that was qick Drake cheers You know what Italy need, a good old dose of Lazialita...

I wont support Italy since De Rossi is in that team. I just can`t... and i really wish that they will lose all the games.
