I hope its a joke too. But I don't think it is. He's been linked with them for a few weeks now and seems intent on joining them. I read somewhere that he was pleading with Zamparini to let him leave. If he goes to the EPL, I don't think he'll be as effective there as he has been in Serie A, and might even ruin his chances of playing in Prandelli's new look Italian NT. I'm a fan of Miccoli too and would hate to see him leave. He was brilliant last season and is very underrated.

Brescia in A, they beat Torino in the playoffs.

Wasn't Kozak on loan there? Anyone know if he helped them promote?

He scored 4 goals for the whole season.

Good one, glad Brescia got promoted (plus it hopefully means they will want to keep Caracciolo and he won't want to move if Lotito is stupid enough to look at him again sunny ).

Kozak came on in 85th in the game so I doubt he had time to do much. He scored 4 goals in his time there but probaly most appearances were as sub. Decent experience for him, don't know where he goes from there though, more loans in B seems likely.

Miccoli is way too good to go to Birmingham for that price, it seems absolutely absurd it has even come up. If you saw how poor Zigic was for Serbia then I doubt Miccoli will want to play up front with a donkey like that at a defensive mid table team like Brum.

Benitez will not be a positive change in my opinion, as I dont fancy his style of football nor his personality (the parts we get to see through media of course) but probably Inter are just too strong to lose the title in any case. I never saw the greatness of Rafa, and I think the title race will be a more open one this year. The only thiong Rafa is really good at is coming 2nd, and all I hope is that merda will not be the team to take advantage...

In his managerial career he has came first more then second. Remember he won the league twice with Valencia and the UEFA Cup.

Right decision to stay. He's had a superb season and deserves the chance to play in Europe next year.

Kjaer and Cavani look set to move to Spurs for 35mil. Massive blow for Palermo and A.

Yeah, shame. But genuinly I think Abel Hernandez is fully ready to fill Cavani's boots, and was doing so in the tail end of last season anyhow. Maccarone has arrived as well so I guess someone was always going to be sacrificed. If the money is used appropriately then they should come out all the stronger.

Kjaer is a blow, but other big stars will arrive in Serie A this summer no doubt.

That is a blow, especially Kjaer. But like Lazio365 pointed out, Palermo have Hernandez, Maccarone and even Miccoli so losing Cavani is not the end of the world. With 35 million they can invest very, very nicely.

Zamparini woud never sell both these talents to such a "low" price. If they offer 50 they wil get them, but not for 35. Remember not ong ago he stated that Cavani woud be avaiable to any cub cashing 40 mil,and after a great WC I doubt both of them woud be avaiabe for 35...

Wow...my last comment in this thread was just answered by Zampa: Kjaer and Cavani will most probably leave this summer, and both of them abroad. Lets see how things develop...

Nice to hear that Cavani wants to stay in Italy.

Quote :
Palermo striker Edinson Cavani admits he would like to stay in Italy this summer amid interest from abroad.

The Uruguay international hopes to join Inter, but the Italian champions have yet to show their hand.

Tottenham and Wolfsburg are understood to have made bids for Cavani, but he isn't enthralled by either of their offers.

Quoted in Tuttosport, Cavani said: “If I had to leave Palermo, I would prefer to keep playing in Serie A.

“I know that Zamparini sees me in England, but I am staying in Italy.”

Cavani has a buy-out clause in his existing contract, which is reportedly worth €23m.

scratch Simon Kjaer signs for Wolfsburg for 13mil... strange to say the least... If Serie A is losing it's best young talents to the Bundesliga (and to a team finishing 8th with no Europe) then there really is something wrong.

I agree. He said that he's happy to join a big club like Wolfsburg ... they aren't even half as big as Palermo if you ask me (they won the Bundesliga but that was because of Magath not because they are so great).

Kjaer is quality no doubt and it is a shame he's gone, but most of the top young players that Serie A has had coming through over the last few years still remain. Hamsik, Jovetic, Pato, Balotelli, Sanchez to name a few. Hopefully it will remain that way.

Napoli have signed Cavani for 16 mln euros. I'm glad that he will remain in Italy because he is a great player and a good talent that I would love to watch in action. The team he chose is quite strange because he said that he want's to play in a bigger team and I think that Napoli and Palermo aren't that diferent.

Great signing for Napoli, completes a powerful front three for them.

I guess at the moment they as clubs are not that different. Both in the Europa League next year, both capable of beating the bigger sides. Historically there is a difference though between the two clubs. Who knows if that made any difference or whether money and the desire to remain in Italy made the deal.
