Keep the predictions coming and I'll sort the scoreboard before the semis. It is basically a two horse race though.

Congrats to Bobbi who lead throughout and showed no signs of being caught Very Happy

By the way guys, thanks, as always, for your participation. Before we kick off the Serie A game for the new season, we should discuss any suggestions or ideas you may have. In my opinion, it is the simple format that makes this game work but sadly, I think the competitive element tends to run out as a full season or tournament draws on. So, if you have a simple idea or scoring format to spice things up, post it here or PM me.

Once again, grazie!

Haha Ed, definitely bounce

I'm playing around with the idea of not participating in next season's game and having a secret goalscorer function where you PM me the guy you think will bag the most goals in a season and then play the game as normal.

Then, come the end of the season, nobody knows for sure that they have won because they don't know who everyone has selected as top goalscorer for all games. Then there is a simple incentive to keep going, even if you are 10-15 points behind people.

Thoughts?

As an addition to this we can PM you also who we think will be champion, who will take the other CL and EL spots and also which teams will be relegated.

Is that sarcasm or a genuine idea? bounce

I don't want to make things complex but if you're serious, how would you do the scoring for that?

Bah - you just don't want to be humiliated and finish at the lower end of the table again mate! Twisted Evil jocolor It's funny how every recent fantasy game has seen you near the back - do you want ALL the cheapo Lotito merch that comes as the consolation prize?!!!!! jocolor tongue

That is an interesting idea but would you have to not participate? If you PM someone else your scorer then it is on record too? I think martin's idea would just be a point or however many for correct guesses at the end too, maybe... Did we decide if the Champion gets any extra picks or bonus stuff for next season Wink

If people were happy for me to participate then I would of course but I don't want to make matters unfair.

Also, if people don't like proposals like these, please speak up now and we won't go any further. For the sake of competition and 2-3 minutes of someone's time, I do think it's worth it. It is only confusing for scoreboard man which will be me unless Ali goes psychopathic on it again Twisted Evil

Hooray!

Thanks for setting up the game Caxi, and also to Ed for helping out, and everyone who participated! All round effort!

Looking forward to the Serie A prediction game starting up in few weeks time. With regards to spicing up the game I like that idea with PM who you think will be top scorer. But if it means Caxi not playing then its not worth it - unless you email your prediction to someone else?

I like the idea of bonus points, so how about having something like a 'joker' card to play in every round (similar to online predictor games)? Typical predictor games allow you to pick a winner and depending on that teams odds of winning, that's how many points you accumulate. That's too complicated, and not fair for this type of game IMO.

But we can make it that you pick one game where one opponent (you choose which one) will be held scoreless. If your prediction is correct, then you get a bonus point.

eg: say on a particular match day its Inter vs Lecce, and you believe Lecce will be held scoreless, so you would predict like this..... Inter - Lecce H (Joker - Lecce) ..... the Joker obviously indicates who will think will be held at 0.

If Inter win you obviously still get your point, but if they win WITHOUT conceding, then you get an extra point.

What do you guys think about that?
