Reggina: Inzaghi, idea for the attack

The situation regarding the attackers in Reggio Calabria is moving. Always mentioned is Corradi (Manchester City) and Paloschi (Milan) but the latest road leads towards the laziale Simone Inzaghi, who already had a meeting with Foti and in the next days could accept the new destination.

Transfermarket: Lazio to move for Lichtsteiner

Lazio seem to have found the substitute for Valon Behrami: Stephen Lichtsteiner, right sided marker and Swiss National Team player is on the radar of the biancoceleste club. The Player, year 1984, has dressed Lille´s jersey last season.

Grown up with Grasshoppers, he has played the last three seasons in Ligue 1. He was protagonist in the European Championship, being on the field in all of the rossocrociata´s three encounter against the Czeck Rebublic, Turkey and Portugal: He is the element that the biancoceleste directors are looking for in order to give Delio Rossi an alternative to De Silvestri on the right side. Lazio are looking to convince the player, who even if he is having one year left on his contract with Lille, will be able to leave the club for a minimum fee. The transfer would cost a little more than one million Euro for a player, who is followed with interst from both Lyon and Everton. Lichtsteiner can play both as a right full back and as part of the midfield line. In the last days there have been frequent contact between President Lotito and Carlo Pallavicino, who is taking care of the contract details.

Meanwhile, this morning The President met Ledesma´s agent Vincenzo D´Ippolito to discuss the renewal of the player´s contract, who since yesterday is a community citizen. Few are the news that arrived from the transfermarket: Artipoli is close to Modena. The negotiations for the loan deal exchange between Pinzi and Stendardo have stalled.

Andrade stop: Juventus think back on Stendardo

After Jorge Andrade´s injury (his career is at risk) Juventus returns to the transfermarket in order to acquire another central defender. In Pinzolo, the seat of the bianconero´s trainingcamp, they are rethinking the name of Guglielmo Stendardo. The Neapolitan has already worn the Juventus jersey in the second part of last season.

Lichtsteiner: "Lazio want me"

Stephan Lichtsteiner admits: "Yes, Lazio are following me". The Swiss wide player is the prime candidate to replace Behrami, who has left Rome thanks to FIFA´s article 17. My agent has held talks with several Italian clubs and among those are Lazio. "The biancoceleste clud" - he said on French radio broadcast RMS - "...is an interesting solution for me. I have talked to Paul Le Guen (old acquintance of Lotito) but I still haven´t heard from Delio Rossi. For me nothing is decided. I am doing the preparations in St. Mauritz, but I would like to sign the new contract in the beginning of next week". Paris Saint Germain is also following the player.

Zauri, Mutarelli and Inzaghi: No Trainingcamp

A group that has been narrowed down. Not by choice, but rather from a "slash". That is realiity for ten of Lazio´s players, who today did not go for the trainingcamp in Auronzo di Cadore and who, from monday will be trained in Formello, far away from the eyes of Mister Delio Rossi. Among them are also by now the ex captain Luciano Zauri, Massimo Mutarelli, Guglielmo Stendardo, Roberto Baronio, and the striker Simone Inzaghi. Five players who have ended up on Rossi´s "black list" and will have to try and search for a new job far away from the capital. Completing the picture of the "outsiders" are the goalkeepers Berni and Santarelli, the young defender Artipoli, the midfielders Quadri and Correa

Transfermarket: Zauri: Sampdoria appears

After Fiorentina, Torino and Napoli, now also Sampdoria have decided to move for Zauri. The blucerchiati have taken back Pieri from Udinese, but Administrative Director Marotta would like to strengthen the left side and when a co ownership deal was discussed, the prime canditate has become the ex captain of Lazio, Luciano Zauri.

After Britos another central defender could arrive at Bologna. Also yesterday there was contact between the club and the laziale defender Stendardo: By now the closing of the transfer (loan with a buying clause) is close.

Corriere dello Sport: Moving forward towards Lichtsteiner

The Swiss is the first choice for the right side: Lotito is trying to close the deal. Lille ask for 2 million Euro. After the name of the Uruguyaian Caballero, now appears also Zuniga for the right side. The biancoceleste club are looking for the alternative to De Silvestri

Transfermarket: Lazio likes Zuniga

The priority is to cut down the squad size. Guglielmo Acra is helping Lotito with the work of selling off players and could take the role as Sporting Director in the near future. Among those leaving is without any doubt Stendardo. For the Neapolitan defender, there are more possible solutions. "Bologna is definitely an important team" - Stendardo said to Radio Kiss Kiss - "...in the moment there are various negotiations taking place. My biggest desire is to dress Napoli´s jersey. Also Firenze would be an exciting place but I am hopeful that Lotito will choose the best option for me".

About Ledesma, his agent confirms that the conditions for a renewal of his contract are not there: "The boy is calm, he stays at Lazio the next season and will do his best" - Vincenzo D´Ippolito said - "... but he doesn´t want to hear talks about his contract anymore".

With regards to Caballero, the right sided Uruguayan wide player from Nacional we´ll see, it´s an idea Lazio is estimating. For the right side another road leads to Juan Camilo Zuniga, 22 year old midfielder from the Colombian National team and Nacional Medellin.

Correa is now one step away from Pisa while Massimo Mutarelli could be integrated with the group in Auronzo di Cadore again

Lazio: Lichtsteiner or Zuniga

Lazio are looking for Valon Behrami´s replacement and maybe they already found him: They only need to choose: Juan Camilo Zuniga or Stephan Lichtsteiner. The first plays with Atletico Nacional Medellin, the latter with Lille.

Zuniga costs 3.5 million Euro, is a Colombian National Team player and was already followed by Inter some time ago. He can be taken only as Non EU player and this aspect holds Lazio back. For the free spot, the biancoceleste are still considering Augusto Fernandèz, the Argentine midfielder who is also dealing with the passport problem.

Lichtsteiner is 24 years old and Valon Behrami´s teammate in the Swiss National Team could replace the ex laziale in Delio Rossi´s plans. His contract with Lille is expiring and therefore Lazio should pay only 2 million Euro for the contract. The player already said that he is fascinated by the biancoceleste interest

Transfermarket: Lazio take Lichtsteiner

Stephan Lichtsteiner, 24 years old, will be the second Swiss player in Lazio´s history. The operation is closed. 1,8 million Euro to Lille, 4 year deal at 500.000 Euro per season for the player. Everton tried in the last hour to insert themselves in the deal, but found the door to the player closed. The transfer will be made official in the next few days, when Lazio have sorted out a few sales. Meanwhile, last night Lichtsteiner and his agent Pastorelli arrived at Hotel Aurora in Auronzo di Cadore not far way from the biancocelesti trainingcamp headquarter. He already met Delio Rossi and the new director Igli Tare. Afterwards he declared: "I am very happy that everything has been sorted out. I can´t wait to begin the adventure with Lazio".

It´s not exactly a transfer that has been carried out in the last few days. It could be said that Lichtsteiner is the last present to Delio Rossi from former Sporting Director Sabatini, who had pointed out the player to Lotito and followed him for the last three months. With the arrival of the Swiss National Team player, Delio Rossi fills out the empty spot left by Valon Behrami and at the same time he has found the alternative to De Silvestri that he was looking for. From one Swiss player to another. The same role, but there is one curiosity: Behrami has made himself free from Lazio with the article 17, while Lichtsteiner made equal threats at the end of last season, when he manifested his desire to move on although his contract didn´t expire until 2009. But who is Lichtsteiner? He is a strong player of nature, that´s how he is described in Switzerland. A right sided wide player, who can play in defence or in midfield, perfect for Rossi´s the new 3-4-3. He participated in the last Euro, always as a starter. At Lille, where he spent the last three seasons, he has turned into one of the leaders of the group. He moves on because Lille couldn´t guarantee the future that he wished for. The same future that Lazio now demand

Matuzalem´s agent: He wants Lazio

According to what has been reported on Real Zaragoza´s official site, Matuzalem is one step away from Lazio. The ex Brescia and Shaktar player is listed among those players leaving the club and his destination is Rome and Lazio. The formula of the transfer is a one year loan deal.

Matuzalem´s agent confirms the negotiations between Lazio and Real Zaragoza to Corriere Dello Sport: "The boy can´t wait to return to Italy". Filippo Fusco, currently Technical Director in Foggia and Matuzalem´s agent, is looking out for the ex Napoli player´s interests: At the moment the midfielder´s future could be that of the biancoceleste: "Lazio want the player just like many other clubs. However, Matuzalem prefers to return to Italy and play with the jersey of one of the big clubs".

They are working on a one year loan: "Yes, this is the concrete idea. The two clubs are trying to find an agreement, but things are not simple. Lazio want the rights to buy the player, while Zaragoza want a straight loan. The time horizon? I think within the end of this week. There is a group of lawyers who are in Spain working on the details." For a long time, Lazio have had Matuzalem´s name on their agenda: "There have been contact before, but the player´s passport was a problem for the biancoceleste. With the new rules introduced in Italy regarding the number of foreigners and with Zaragoza´s demotion, there have been this small opening since mid June.

The player has always dreamt about returning to the Italian championship, ever since his experience in Italy. After having worn the jerseys of Napoli, Parma, Piacenza and Brescia, Matuzalem wanted to come back to Serie A: "He and his wife love Italy, and therefore we talked about Lazio and the perspectives of playing there. The thought of being able to come to Rome make them enthusiastic. Certainly, from an economic point of view, it would be more convenient to play abroad, but money is not the only thing in a player´s career. The problem of signing the player is - he says - only when the club isn´t really interested in acquiring the player. That´s not the case with Lazio and Matuzalem. Both parts would like to give something, in order to find the final agreement".

Fusco can easily see Matuzalem in Delio Rossi´s tactical scheme: "Lazio are putting together a great side and Matuzalem would fit in perfectly next to Ledesma. I don´t know what tactical formation Rossi will use, but the Brazilian´s qualities would be perfect together with the Argentine´s substance. Other than the central position, Matuzalem could easily adapt to a position on the left side of the midfield".

Gaby Mudingayi sold to Bologna

Surprise in Casa Lazio: Gaby Mudingayi doesn't participate in the morning training, because only details are missing in his transfer to Bologna. "I felsinei" are ready to buy the whole contract for a figure around 5-6 million euro, but in this moment a co-ownership is also discussed. For the Belgian a four year contract. Mudingayi is preparing to leave the training camp in Aurunzo di Cadore and to salute his teammates. The sale brings the Brasilian Matuzalem even closer to Biancocelesti.

Olè: "Agreement found between Lazio-Fernandèz".

Pablo Sabbag will meet the directors of Panathinaikos soon in order to find an agreement in case Lazio decide to give up their advantage on Augusto Fernandèz. The player still carries the status as non EU player and the biancoceleste club have still not decided if they want to occupy this free spot: "The player has found an agreement on the contract with the Italian club. However, Lazio is waiting until the end of this month to find out whether to take advantage of their free spot for a non EU player". Panathinaikos? Still waiting for Lazio, the River directors are pushing to keep the door open to the Greek side according to the Argentine daily Olè.

Rodrigo Mendes: Lazio, another Brazilian?

Lazio loose on the transfermarket. The latest indiscretions concerns Rodrigo Mendes, attacker from Gremio. Currently his contract is expiring with the Brazilian club. According to voices arriving from South America, a few directors from Lazio have contacted the player in order to examine the possibility of a transfer to Italy. Given his age, the player would not fit in well with Lotito´s project, but the 33 year olds declarations don´t leave any doubt: "Lazio´s interest makes me honoured and happy. These news are very positive and now I am awaiting further developments. I hope the Gremio directors would facilitate such a move". Rodrigo Mendes has had many experiences abroad. "I have played six years outside of Brazil, but everyone knows that the dream of any player is to play in Europe. I have Italian citizenship and this could help me a lot."

However, in Italy we have not found any confirmations regarding this player, who according to his record, is a real globetrotter. Brazil, Japan, Saudi Arabia. Now Serie A?

Behrami rethinks his position? West Ham again in pole position

Besides Mudingayi, sold to Bologna for six million Euro plus the other half of Meghni, also Zauri and Behrami are leaving Lazio. The defender is moving to Fiorentina on loan with a buy out clause fixed at 3,2 million Euro. The Swiss player signs today with West Ham, who have decided to take him for 6,5 million Euro without making use of the FIFA regulation.

Lotito doesn´t give up on the Brazilian Matuzalem from Real Zaragoza. Real allow a free loan with a buy out clause fixed at 15-16 million Euro. For Lotito the task will be to pay the midfielders wages. Around 2 million Euro.

Valladolid: Take Canobbio, Baronio fading away?

Valladolid have announced the signing of the Italian/Uruguayian midfielder Nestor Fabian Canobbio, who was released from Celta Vigo after having scored 28 goals in 131 games from 2004 up until last season. The Spanish club, that seemed the most probable destination for Roberto Baronio, was looking for a central midfielder with determination and technical characteristics at a low cost. Baronio seemed to fit that description, but now the transfer doesn´t appear very likely. However, the negotiations had reached a advanced level and it´s not excluded that the transfer could still be realized. Lazio and the player keep waiting.

Zaragoza: Matuzalem to Lazio

On the Spanish clubs webiste you can read the official statement of Matuzalem´s transfer to Lazio in a one year loan deal. The club announces that an agreement has been found and the player will leave to Rome in order to sign the contract
