Matuzalem to Lazio: Now it´s official

Real Zaragoza have announced Francelino Matuzalem´s transfer to Lazio through their official website. "The player arrives in Rome tonight in order to sign a one year contract with Lazio". "I am happy - he has declared - I can´t wait to start working with Rossi".

Francelino Matuzalem is officially a Lazio player. The announcement arrived directly from Real Zaragoza´s website: "Real have found an agreement for the transfer of the player Francelino Matuzalem in a one year deal to the Italian club Lazio". Matuzalem is therefore the new reinforcement for the biancoceleste midfield. He arrives on a one year loan deal with the right to buy his contract at a very high fixed price: Approximately 15 million Euro. "I´m very happy to return to Italy and to come to a prestigious team and an important club like Lazio - he declared this morning to Teleradiostereo - I can´t wait to take the first flight and arrive in Rome".

Matuzalem arrives in Rome this evening: He will undergo the medical visits and sign the contract (which has been agreed around one million Euro, on the same terms as Rocchi and Zaratè) with the biancoceleste club. Tomorrow he could travel to Auronzo di Cadore. "I can´t wait to speak to Rossi and find out in which way he intends to use me". The waiting is over

Torino: De Biasi would like Mauri

He does not say it openly, but Gianni De Biasi is hiding his cards in order to have Stefano Mauri and Maurizio Domizzi at Torino: "They are two players that I like - admits the coach when interviewed by Radio Kiss Kiss - I can´t say more". The Lazio midfielder is an old acquintance for the Granata coach. He is the one who launched Mauri´s football career when he was coaching Brescia. The same with Maurizio Domizzi, the rock solid defender, who has requested to be sold from Napoli in order to get closer to home. "If Domizzi is one of our objectives, I really can´t say anything. For Mauri I don´t know if we would be able to find an agreement". However, a few reinforcements could still arrive: "There is an agreement with the club to still make small adjustments to the squad" confirms De Biasi

Defence: No to Dainelli, rather Moti

Zauri is officially a Fiorentina player. "At Lazio I have had some disagreements. I´m happy to wear the Viola jersey". In exchange Lazio were offered Dainelli, but he is of no interest. Lazio receive 400.000 Euro for the loan and could expect another 2,9 million Euro from Della Valle´s club in June for the permanent contract.

For the defence Rossi wants the Romanian Cosmin Moti with whom there is already an agreement. The terms are the same as those used for his compatriot Radu: A loan deal with an option to buy. Moti is not coming to Rome before the squad is cut down with the departure of Stendardo and maybe also Belleri. No news for Inzaghi (Reggina) or Baronio (Valladolid).

Transfermarket: Moti approached again

Next week could be decisive in terms of another arrival in Delio Rossi´s ranks. The road leading to the Romanian defender Moti seemed closed, but instead it has suddenly been reopened. The player is highly apprecited by Lazio´s coach. At the moment he is in trainingcamp with Dinamo Bucharest, but he is only waiting for a call from Rome. President Lotito had another meeting with Becali, who is the agent of the player. Moti is Rossi´s first priority ahead of Dainelli. Stendardo is close to Bologna, Inzaghi is liked by Reggina, negotiations have been opened in Spain for Baronio´s transfer, while Mutarelli´s future remains in doubt even if he is still on the market.

Tomorrow is the day when the new acquisition Matuzalem will arrive in the trainingcamp in Auronzo di Cadore. The deal is closed, only the transfer is missing in order to deposit the contract and begin the season. Only then the official figures of the operation will be known, including how much Lazio would have to pay in order to buy the permanent contract. However, in the last hours the buy out clause seems to have been lowered drastically and should have been fixed at 6,5 million Euro. Practically the same figures that Real Zaragoza paied to Shaktar Donetsk after the Brazilian had made himself available using the FIFA article 17.

Matuzalem arrived in Rome on friday evening. He met with President Lotito and found the agreement for his salary (around 1 million Euro per season). Now he is in Napoli where he will spend the weekend. In Napoli, the Brazilian midfielder still owns an appartment. "The operation is concluded and only the transfer is missing" - the agent of the midfielder Fusco declared - "We need a bit patience, but everything is in place. The player has already said and repeated that he is enthusiastic to begin this new adventure".

The outgoing transfers

Stendardo and Bologna are only divided by 100.000 Euro (probably the transfer could be completed tomorrow), while the offers arriving for Simone Inzaghi are from Serie B (the player wants to remain in Serie A), Baronio´s transfer to Valladolid has stalled, because the Spaniards have bought Nestor Fabiàn Canobbio, a player who covers the same role as Baronio. Quadri and Correa seem destined for Pisa, even if the question of their salaries needs to be solved (The Tuscan club want Lazio to pay a part of their salaries)

Fernandèz agent: "If they are interested, they must ask for him"

The voices bringing Augusto Fernandèz towards Lotito´s Lazio have not yet been put off. Pablo Sabbag, agent of Fernandèz (and also of Juan Pablo Carrizo) comments to Datasport the latest indiscretions regarding his client: "I have been in Rome all week (because of Carrizo), but I haven´t met Lotito - the agent says - we often listen to President Lotito, but Lazio have never confirmed their interest in the player to me. For the time being he is a non EU player, but about the passport I can´t make any predictions. However, if Lazio want him, I am here".

Tomorrow the Stendardo chapter could be closed: Between Udinese and Bologna, it could end with a loan deal and a buy out clause at a fixed price with the defender going to the Friulian side. Udinese is the player´s preferred destination, because they are also qualified for the Uefa Cup. Unless a super offer arrives in the last hour from Bologna, the deal should be closed by now.

Torino: Mauri and Mutarelli

The Torino President Urbano Cairo reveals his views on the mercato, especially with regards to his midfield. In the last few days, some voices have spread that Il Toro were moving towards the Lazio midfielder, Stefano Mauri: Also the coach Gianni De Biasi has admitted that he appreciates the quality of the biancoceleste fantasista.

The President Urbano Cairo expresses his view on those words by his coach, when talking to the microphones of Datasport: "Mauri? I also share De Biasi´s appreciation, but with our system 4-3-3 we are more interested in a central midfielder". And the reinforcement could arrive also from Lazio says Cairo: "Mutarelli? ... We´ll see. It´s better to do the negotiations privately". However, the President doesn´t confirm nor deny: Mutarelli to Torino could still happen.

Defence: Rossi wants another central defender

Rossi wants another central defender: He has asked for five defenders plus the youngster Diakitè, who has just been out with a long term injury. At the moment he has four central defenders. Rozehnal, Cribari, Radu and Siviglia, but out of those, one is turning 36 years of age, while the Romanian is also considered the back-up for Kolarov on the left side.

So, it´s a necessity to give the defence a face-lift, even if another purchase to the midfield also can´t be excluded, in case Mutarelli is not readmitted in the team (in play, the Argentine Fernandèz and the ex laziale Pinzi). For the defence, Lotito has his hands on Moti (23 years old). The "blitz" in Bucharest to buy out Stefan Radu´s contract also served the purpose of negotiating a similar deal for his compatriot in the Dinamo team. One year loan, approximately for 2 million Euro, then a direct buy-out cluase in 2009. Lotito is ready to take Moti in order to satisfy Rossi and give an important alternative to a team that is going to play with three central defenders next season.

Stendardo-Pinzi: They are still negotiating

Lazio and Udinese are still negotiating for the exchange between Stendardo and Pinzi, which would see the latter return to Rome. The Lazio defencer is liked also by Bologna. The Romanian Moti arrives to take Stendardo´s spot. He is chosen ahead of Dainelli from Fiorentina. The two new acquisitions Matuzalem and Lichtsteiner are awaited in the trainingcamp today. Those leaving the club are Baronio (Valladolid) and Simone Inzaghi (Reggina or Brescia), while Mutarelli could still stay. Behrami is going to West Ham or Germany. Lotito´s decision.

Transfermarket: Arriving: Moti or Dainelli

Lazio still haven´t said the last word on the market. Lotito is counting on bringing another central defender and maybe also a midfielder. One of the most likely arrivals is Cosmin Moti, defender, 23 years old, who is highly rated by Delio Rossi. The Romanian National player, friend and ex teammate of Stefan Radu, has been blocked by Lotito since the end of June. 500.000 Euro is ready for Dinamo Bucharest in order to take the player on a one year loan, then another 5 million Euro for the buy out of his contract within one year. The operation had been put on hold, until Zauri and Stendardo are sold off, both of them considered out of Rossi´s plans.

In case the Moti transfer fails, Lazio already have the alternative ready: His name is Dario Dainelli. However, the destiny of the Viola defender is tied to Stendardo´s future (close to Bologna). In case Stendardo is leaving, the Fiorentina captain could arrive in Formello. Corvino intends to sell his defender, only when he has taken another one (the Argentine Burdisso more than anyone).

Another reinforcement could arrive for the midfield. The name is already known: Matiàs Augusto Fernandèz, 22 years old, number 8 in River Plate: Between today and tomorrow, his agent Pablo Sabbag will meet the directors from the Millionarios. Fernandèz, great friend of Carrizo, wants Lazio. It would be a transfer costing around five or six million Euro. The transfer can only be unblocked if he obtains the Italian passport, that he already applied for.

Stendardo´s agent: "Udinese or Bologna"

Guglielmo Stendardo´s agent, Gaetano Fedele, was talking to Radio Kiss Kiss about the market and in particular about his client´s situation.

Guglielmo Stendardo to Bologna? "The competition is strong and the situation is beginning to get quite tiring, but within short time we will find a solution because this week we will know his destination. In this case the will of the player will be decisive, the two options are Bologna and Udinese".

Borcea: "Moti and Lobont won´t leave"

The President of Dinamo Bucharest declares that Cosmin Moti is untouchable, thus taking the Romanian defender away from Lazio. "Him and Lobont won´t be sold. We want to win the championship and in order to do so, we need players like them. We can´t afford to loose them". Borcea made his decision known in front of cameras and journalists, but in reality his declaration is a clear message to Lotito: now or never. However, Lazio have frozen the negotiations because they want to sell some players before making new signings to the team.

West Ham-Behrami: It´s official

Valon Behrami has put his signature on a 5 year contract, proposed to him by the Sporting Director, Nani, from West Ham. The Londoners pay around 6 million Euro to Lazio, after having decided to take the player without using FIFA´s article 17. West Ham´s official website is reporting the news, and in the announcement, they describe Lazio as a Serie A giant.

Mutarelli and Lazio: trying to talk

Last Tuesday Lotito met in Rome the player’s agent, Marronaro. It was a preliminary meeting, where another one should take place in the following hours. Mutarelli is in the list of the players currently training at Formello, but he still hopes to be able to soon join his teammates at Auronzo.
Through his agent, Mutarelli expressed once again his will to stay at Lazio, and he is training with the usual professionalism in order to make Rossi change his mind and rely on the midfielder for this season too.

In the last hours, however, Torino has shown interest in Mutarelli. Cairo said to like the biancoceleste midfielder, confirming the granata’s interest. There are rumors about a swap with Simone Barone, who is about to leave the club. Lotito will probably meet up with Cairo before seeing Marronaro again.

It won’t be easy, in any case, to convince Mutarelli to leave. The player decided to refuse all the offers he received so far to stay with the biancocelesti. He joined the Lazio project when the club had been initially relegated to Serie B after the Calciopoli scandal and never stepped back; this season he played even in not good physical conditions, and he hopes that his dedication to the club can convince the club to think back and change the decision taken.

Simone Barone´s agent: "He is not moving to Lazio"

Silvano Martina, who is Simone Barone´s agent, speaks about the failed negotiations for the player´s transfer to Lazio. The agent spoke to Datasport about her client, a midfielder from Torino: "The negotiations have not continued, rather the contrary. They have failed. There was an idea about starting negotiations some time ago, while Sabatini was still at Lazio. However, noone was convinced to follow up the situation".

Martina adds: "Signing Mutarelli did not seem convenient for Torino, and Lazio was not greatly interested in Barone either. In my opinion Mutarelli won't go to Torino, unless the granata get rid of Grella."

Mutarelli´s agent: "Torino? It´s possible"

Lorenzo Marronaro, the agent of Massimo Mutarelli, considers a transfer to Torino possible. This he declared to Radio Kiss Kiss: "Mutarelli to Torino? Massimo has the wish to stay in Rome and play for Lazio, but lately he has taken in consideration to move on. In the coming days we will meet with Lotito. Lazio have treated Mutarelli in an unjustified way."

Bologna-Stendardo: Almost done

The negotiations between Lazio and Bologna for Guglielmo Stendardo are almost done. The ex Juventus defender was to join Udinese in exchange for Giampiero Pinzi, which then was cancelled. Now Stendardo leaves the biancoceleste club to dress the jersey of the newly promoted rossoblu, who have been searching for a reinforcement for the backline.

Bologna have already found an agreement with Lazio for a one year loan, with a buy out clause for 50% of the contract, now they only have to convince the player, but they are very close to an agreement.

Borcea: "Lazio have offered 5,5 million Euro for Moti". However, Dinamo are not selling the defender.

The President of Dinamo Bucharest is bound to deny the critics of the public with regards to the financial situation at the club. Borcea has made a clear response to the speculations about Cosmin Moti´s future: "I have read in the newspapers that Dinamo don´t male any investments, because there is no money available. That´s not true - Borce said to "sport.ro" - we will demonstrate that by keeping Cosmin Moti. Lazio have offered 5,5 million Euro, but we will not sell him. Thus we will demonstrate to everyone, that we don´t need the money offered by the Italian club".

Lucas Corres to Pro Patria: All the negotiations taking place

The Argentine Lucas Corres is moving to Pro Patria, where also Alberto Quadri may end up. Tommaso Berni is requested by Avellino. Here follows all the negotiaions taking place at the moment.

There is always something happening around Formello. Lazio have send the Argentine midfielder Lucas Correa, who spend last season at Gallipoli, to Pro Patria.

Alberto Quadri - Another biancoceleste midfielder could also end up in Busto Arsizio (Home of Pro Patria), namely Alberto Quadri, earlier at Inter and Perugia. Also Taranto and Cavalese have made offers for him, and surprisingly Pisa could reappear, they were among the first to inquire about him.

Tommaso Berni - Avellino (just back in Serie B after Messina´s financial collapse) and their new coach Giuseppe Incocciati are looking for a goalkeeper: the attention is upon the laziale Tommaso Berni, who is ready to accept the new destination.

Guglielmo Stendardo-Cosmin Moti - The agreement between Lazio and Bologna for the transfer of the Neapolitan defender to the Rossoblu is still expected. Yesterday both parts again had a meeting. Lotito is demanding 2 million Euro for the loan deal with a buy out clause, while Bologna prefer a direct loan or at maximum an expenditure of around 800.000 Euro. If the transfer is going through, it would definitely open the doors for the arrival of Cosmin Moti in biancoceleste. The defender from Dinamo Bucharest and his agent Becali are only waiting for a signal from Rome to close the deal, which has already been under way for more than a month.

Massimo Mutarelli - Always new turns with regards to the situation of the Lombardian midfielder. Mutarelli is training in Formello, but it seems as if President Lotito is reluctant to sell him off definitively: "We have to make the situation between my client and the club clear" - his agent Marronaro declared - "Mutarelli´s career is damaged this way, I hope the situation will be resolved". The possible transfer to Torino remains a possibility, where Urbano Cairo already proposed the exchange with Barone, who is of no interest to Lazio. In case Mutarelli would leave the Biancocelesti, talk for the arrival of either Giampiero Pinzi or Augusto Fernandez could be resumed. In the Argentine´s case, only if he obtains a community passport (still no news).

Simone Inzaghi to the United States? - For Simone Inzaghi there is the posibillity to transfer to the American MLS league, even if Simone Inzaghi would first like to explore any possible option in the Italian championship.

Roberto Baronio - No good news for Roberto Baronio. The proposal from Valladolid - who a few weeks ago already acquired a midfielder similar to Baronio - seems to have vanished.

Lotito: Another travel to Romania for Moti?

According to what is written in the romanian newspapers, the Lazio President is ready to depart once again to close the negotiations with Cosmin Moti. Dinamo Bucharest has infact refused the 5,5 million Euro offer proposed by Lotito, who is now ready to raise the offer with another 500.000 Euro.

Fernandèz: "I would like to go with Carrizo"

Augusto Matiàs Fernandèz has talked about his situation to the Argentine newspaper Òle. The midfielder says he is waiting for news regarding his Italian passport, because he wants to catch up with his ex teammate Carrizo in Lazio. The alternative is Panathinaikos, but for the time being "El Negro" only knows that his heart remains with River, even if he should leave Argentina.

In the article you can read that 6 months ago, Fernadèz asked his agent Sabbag to wait, because he wanted to win something with River (afterwards he did win the championship). Now he must decide with his head and not with his heart, which no matter the outcome belongs to the biancorosso after 11 years with River. The players says: "I´m still sleeping well... more or less. I won´t hide that I am curious to know something about my future. My head tells me to go and my heart tells me to stay. I hope that my citizenship arrives, then I would have to leave and go to a club like Lazio where I would again be together with Juan Pablo (Carrizo).

The transfermarket: Lazio: Doubt, Pinzi or Guana?

Only a midfielder is missing in order to complete Delio Rossi´s Lazio. With Mutarelli leaving, President Lotito is exploring the market in search for a valid reinforcement to give to the biancoceleste coach. Two names are the most popular: Pinzi from Udinese and Guana from Palermo. In this moment those two are the only real midfielders on the market.

Udinese - The truth is that two weeks ago, Giampiero Pinzi was already a Lazio player. Lotito and Leonardi had reached the agreement for the exchange between the midfielder and Stendardo. The operation failed in the last moment, because at that time Mutarelli´s situation still wasn´t clear. Today, his divorce from Lazio is much closer. The only problem now could be Udinese, who is said to be rather unhappy with the negotiations fifteen days ago.

Not convinced by Fernandèz - Other than Pinzi and Guana, Lazio still keep the negotiations open for Augusto Matiás Fernandèz, the number 8 from River. He can only come with the community passport. The player claim to have all the documentation in place. The doubts are also tactical: We are talking about an attacking minded midfielder. In Rossi´s group there are already Matuzalem, Mauri, Meghni and Foggia.

Stendardo to Bologna... Today the decisive meeting?

A meeting is scheduled between the Rossoblu directors and those from the Biancoceleste to discuss Stendardo´s transfer to Bologna. There is still distance between the sides (the difference is around 1 million Euro) but the negotiations remain open.

The decisive week in order to know guglielmoStendardo´s future has started. The Neapolitan defender is continuing the training with the other outcasts at Formello, but he is waiting to know his future.

Last week he found an agreement with Bologna, but before transferring to Emilia he is awaiting a call from Lazio. The Biancoceleste club still haven´t found the financial agreement with the Rossoblu. The owner Cazzola wants the player on a free loan, or with a slight economical expense ( at maximum 800.000 Euro). However, Lotito pushes for a financial payment of around 2 million Euro. A difference that at least for the moment has blocked the negotiations. Today a meeting has been scheduled between the parts to smooth the rough edges off and close a negotiation which has been going on for some time.
