I've said it 100 times, Lazio has very long list of players to get rid of. No need to agree all but here is my MUST LEAVE IMMEDIATELY:

-Baronio
-Belleri
-Makinwa
-Mehni
-Del Nero
-Manfredini
-Inzaghi
-Sivigla
-Mauri
-Dabo/Brocchi (only for their age)

I would call up any youngster then the ones above. Give the young talents a space damn it.

I dont agree with all of them leaving, but I do get your point. We have a large number of players that we need to get rid of in order to introduce som new quality, or only because we do not need them. One very large problem though: no club on a higher level would be attracted by this bunch.

Meghni can have all the talent in the world, he is never going to become a starter as he is constantly injured. He is a decent player when he actually gets a few games and finds his rythm, unfortunately that happens to rarely. I would have never bought him, let alone keep him. When does his contract expire?

Manfredini is a good and reliable back up midfielder to have. I don't want him sold. I really don't get why so many people on this forum seem to think he is useless? He is not world class I agree but above average IMO.

C'mon man, he is one of the worst players in the history of Lazio. I can't find anything good about him as a player, seems toatally lost on the pitch. But it's just my opinion. Get rid of him and let some ypungster prove his worth.

Then you have been watching Meghni with closed eyes.......we have an idiot on bench and thats rossi.....Meghni has problems with injurys but hes always better than mauri and rossi ass has always preferred mauri over him.
And every players need time to improve and get back to form from injury....he just cant have those chances.
Hes a perfect back-up and i hope mauri leaves with rossi in the summer.

I like having injury prone "talents" in the team. The key word is talents.

Why? If we have a season where the likes of Meghni and Del Nero stay fit, we have two dangerous players in the side who can change games and grab us points. Both guys are talented, Meghni in particular but their wages have to be kept low or else, as Jofo said, we could be wasting our money.

Sile i was thinking about Meghnis injurys from a different angle.
He will never be a 100% starter for Lazio but he has been a good back-up this season. Even though he hast been chosen not many times by youre godfather delio rossi.

Ok so let's take an objective look on Meghni's performance this year since we can't agree on him being a good back up player or not.
This is an overview of his match appearances in Serie A this year:

Sampdoria - entered in the 62nd at the result 1-0 for us, ended 2-0 for us

Milan - entered in the 68th minute, we lost that game 4-1, it was 3-1 when he came on

Torino - entered in the 69th min at the score 2-1, finished 3-1

Lecce - entered in the 51st with the score 1-0 for Lecce, ended 1-1

Catania - entered in the 46th for rocchi, game ended 1-0 laate strike by Foggia

Siena - exited in the 46th for Rocchi who scored 2 goals, game ended 3-0

Genoa - exited in the 73rd at 1-0 for genoa, ended 1-1 (Dabo)

Inter - entered in the 77th, lost 3-0

Udinese - entered in the 46th for Belleri, game ended 3-3 after losing 3-0

Palermo - played the whole game, assisted Rocchi for the 1-0 win

Reggina - exited in 75th, in 76th Pandev scores for the win 3-2

Juve - exited in the 63rd, ended 1-1

Sampdoria - exited in the 73rd, lost the game 3-1

Milan - exited in the 66th at the score 2-0, lost the game 3-0

Catania - entered in the 82nd, lost the game 1-0

Siena - exited in the 68th at the score 1-0, lost the game 2-0

Genoa - entered in the 75th at the score 1-0, game ended 1-0

He played a total of some 900 minutes (which amounts to almost 10 games start to finish) over the course of 19 games and managed 1 assist and 3 yellow cards. Hardly a monumental effort. Ooh and he scored a goal against Benevento in Coppa.
I am really not impressed with his twists and turns in the center of the field when in the end it more often leads to their counterstrike than a productive pass, cross or shot.

Itīs not the same risk. Matuzalem is (when he is fit) one of our best midfielders. Without him, our middlefield is not so competive. You saw that against Atalanta.
When Matuzalem is playing then our middlefield can put mor pressure to the opponents.

When Meghni is playing, itīs very different to a game when Matuzalem is playing.

When he was fully fit he started against milan and he was the best on field. He has good dribbling skills and gives good passes. I wouldnt be argueing here when rossi had used him often....but yess he used mauri instead of meghni....its mauri who should be the coming in in the late minutes...hes a total flop.
When Meghni leaves instead of mauri and manfredini then things are so wrong....

That's right. And all you brag lazios70 is "that game against Milan". Did he do anything else for the club. That's one game, Matu has done much more in so little time. And Menghi is not better then Mauri. Stefano at least had a one really good season for us.

Karakash i think you tell the same thing about manfre, rossi and makinwa tooo?????How the hell is mauri better than meghni. hes a lost loser and unfortunately is wearing our Lazio shirt.
Its a really big shame Meghnis fysical situation is weak. The milan game is almost the only chance that rossi has given him to start from the beginning to the end.

No, my friend, i don't think the same about Manfre and Makinwa, i'm very happy that Manikwa is not in Lazio anymore and i hope he never comes back. And i hope Manfre leaves in the summer. As for Rossi, he's gone also, it's time for a cnange. But Mauri at least has done something for the club, but if we buy the right players, i wouldn't mind seeing him leave this summer. Together with your favorite Menghi. cheers

Sorry LazioS70, I think that Karakash is right with Mauri.
Iīm not a big Mauri Fan, but Mauri had one awsome season with Lazio. He was one of the best players in our squad.

And how many good seasons (or better - how many good games) had Meghni?

Both of them are now not first team player, but Mauri is the better sub than Meghni.

It depends on your view on Meghni and Mauri, Meghni is definatly more talented, better technique, passing, dribbling, his issue is consistency and that's got to do with his poor physical strength, if one day Meghni gets it right than he'll be great, just watch the match against Werder he tore them appart.

Mauri, he's an all rounder can play everywhere in midfield, he's not so flashy but he got decent skills with a good eye on goal, even if his finishing is letting him down latelty. He's reliable and a very good backup to have. Meghni is better in terms of talent and potential but Mauri suits us better as a reserve. Meghni has to improve physically if he does, im sure he'd be starting all the matches and he'd be miles ahead of Mauri.

Meghni definately has potential and provided evidence of that with a splendid assist against Palermo in a 1-0 win. Boksic is spot on. Hopefully meghni can sort out his physical issues so we can see the best of him, after all thats what we all want and that would be the best for Lazio.

I hope this results in a purchase. We would feel so much better with one crappy player less, and 6 mil more to spend on transfers in.
Interesting to read those comments I must say...seems they have no clue about his medical status...

I think Meghni could do well with Celtic, and if he remains as injury free as possible, then there is no doubt. Although if he does go I would feel a bit sad as he never really got to establish himself at Lazio - but he would be at a team that I have liked since I was a kid and would follow his progress somewhat, so that would be nice. If he really is sold I hope he doesn't completely flop in Glasgow. The 4-6 million Euros made off Mourad would also be nice.

I'd send him on loan with a hefty buy-out clause if I wore Lotito's shoes.

If he improves his fitness, he could be such a star for us and a Firmani type deal may reveal more about his true potential and worth to our team.

His performances over the past season were hit and miss. There was no inbetween, he was either spectacular or completely off the pace.
