Neither of Agliardi or Fontana is even close to being world class, let alone both of them. That said, if we can get an experienced goalie for a sub, I won't mind, I think Muslera should be loaned out, warming the bench at Lazio won't solve his confidence problems which are his main weakness.
maybe we should have loaned out Berni and Muslera and kept Ballotta as 2nd choice keeper?

I was going to suggest the same.

would have made sense if we had Carrizo as No.1, Ballotta and Degre as back ups.

Surely he could have done better than the Hammers, they were one of the most dire teams in the Premiership last year... Such a shame it had to end like this after the Derby goal and the fact Lazio gave him his chance in Serie A...

it really is, but I think he's left with a bit more dignity considering the fee we are getting.

West Ham were awful...they were losing 4, maybe 5 goals to the good sides...their position didn't reflect their play.

Behra will have it tough there.

Anyway, I presume this means its a green light for our Augusto?

I agree about the Hammers! The money is better than nothing but if this had been the start of last season, he'd have gone for more and probably to a better club. The worrying thing for me about Fernandez signing is that we will have too many attack based midfielders with only Dabo to help a still weak defence, probably playing a new formation. Plus I really really hope Foggia gets some decent playing time.

agree with you completely Ed, I think we are alright on that right side without Fernandez, we have De Silvestri, Lichsteiner and also, Foggia, Pandev, Rocchi, Manfredini have all played there in the past, so even in the worst injury crisis, we are well covered.

It's the lack of defence in the centre of our half that worries me. The defence, for me, is not Top 6 quality yet and still won't be with Moti and a good all round midfielder would have been very suitable there. Seems like Rossi disagrees with me on that one.

Co-Ownership with who? I thought Fifa rules only allowed Italian clubs to co-own domestically?

found this a while back when i was trying to figure out the Artipoli deal, it's quite long but it explains football transfers in general. it explains co-ownership deals.

my guess is Samp can co-own him.

I think this guy is a talent and we missed out a bit here.

we lost 2-4 against serie b side rimini Crying or Very sad
cribari & siviglia were said to be awful..costing us 3 goals before halftime..
its obvious that the defense is our weakest side...

you see, this is where I fear for Lazio.

Napoli and Sampdoria have been quietly strengthening their side, Palermo have overhauled theirs, Udinese have quality players already and Genoa are making a few very good signings.

if we don't get a centre back in soon and a good one at that, we will be fighting for the Top 10 again. seriously, we can go fourth with Fernandez and a CB. we need to act.

I seriously think we should have been going all out for Domizzi and Pinzi. I mean, they're exactly what we need now...

Maybe with the money from Stendardo and some other offloads we will buy Domizzi.... Rossi and Lotito should draw their conclusions from the Rimini game where the defense crumbled

What money from Standardo? Latest news seems to be he is going to be loaned out. Crying or Very sad
With the money from Behrami and Mudi we should be more than able to buy a decent CB. Not sure who that will be as I have never watched Moti (I don't even remember whether he played when we palyed Dinamo last year) and I have not seen much of Domizzi but a quick check showed me napoli conceded more goals than us last season, so I doubt he is that special. Anyway, Lotito was quoted yesterday, I believe, saying we are not interested in Domizzi or dainelli.

well we have to take in mind Matrim's post - Napoli got more balls in the net than we did...so it doesn't speak to good for Domizzi...

can't judge Domizzi on the amount of goals Napoli conceded last year, the truth is Napoli had quite a few bizarre games at the season's start when they were conceding goal upon goal. you can't judge people on one season, otherwise we have a defence of world beaters already.

the defence is a concern, but in my opinion, only Inter, Juve and Merda have a defence that I would consider solid presently, so I'm not too worried.

The defense is a priority since last season along with a new keeper, today I read that Dinamo president rejected Lazio offer of 5.5 M for Moti??? From the feedback I got about Moti that this fee is too much for him!

I still believe we will sign a new defender only once Stendardo is sold or loaned and I feel that he will not be either Moti and Domizzi! Just remember we were strongly linked to Palacio and Fernandez and ended by Zarate and Matulazem instead!
