PostSubject: Re: Delio Rossi.   Tue Oct 07, 2008 8:38 pm

Well I would like to reply to this post as long as I am sick of studying at the moment!

Firstly, It seems that I have to make a declaration: I don't criticize Rossi for nothing, and at the same time I am not that kind of fans that hail him every time and then just because he showed sympathy to our colours and fans by his declarations! something that the likes of Stankovic, Crespo, Liverani...etc did before. What I want from the coach is to work hard and to speak less! I know the Special one is too arrogant and up to date didn't proof his worth in Italy, but Rossi comments on him at that delicate time killed me.

However, I think Rossi improved alot from the last season, I would like to post those examples that I rarely saw last year:

1- Substituting Mauri very early in the 2nd half for Meghni against Lecce was something that I will applaud Rossi finally! those who followed Lazio last year didn't witnessed such unusual move from Rossi evnthough it was obvious to all Laziale Mauri is more than a burden! Meghni with one of his trademark skills are more suitable to break the Lecce wall rather than the classic Mauri. Such a substitution proved its worth as Meghni did his job.

2- Bringing Foggia back to the starting 11 is ice on cake, this little boy is pleasure to watch as he added alot to our game and the curva gesture for him after his substitution in Viola game is more than enough. Foggia proved that last year decision by Rossi to loan him to Caligari was all wrong x worng .

3- Last year LCM position was occupied by Muta and Manfradeni in almost evey game! this time Rossi tried Meghni, Mauri (both of them where available last year) and Matulazem for this spot and just look how much things are looking more better, all in all this means that Manfradeni will be hardly known that he is a Lazio player.

4- Changing tactics (for e.g. 4-3-1-2 to 4-3-3 or even 4-3-2-1!) also paid well alnog side changing player positions (alternation between Pandev, Foggia, and Zarate; bringing back Mauri to the Midfield..etc).

5- Calling Inzaghi for the useless Makinwa!

Yet, I still beleive Rossi didn't read the Milan game well (and he is the one who should be blamed for the defeat) along with the 1st half against Calgari but I do believe that Rossi should be more than happay to have such a quality players at his disposal, we have a strong bench team with the likes of De Silvestri, Meghni, Dabo, Matulazem, Kolarov, Rocchi, Cribari, and Muslera at the moment! please mention any other team in Italy have such a bench team (Of course exclude Inter and Milan!), lets not forget they are all inform and ready to take the 1st spot if any of the starting 11 is absent or is not doing well something we missed last year with the likes Manfradeni, Makinwa, Tare, Zauri, Firmani, and Vegnarolli instead!!!! time will tell us what Rossi will do once Rocchi is back! what about De Silvestri situation?? can he keep the team fired up through out the whole season?

Listening to Zarate, Carrizo, Pandev, Cribari, Rossi, Lotito, and many Laziale here or in Italy talk of a possible Scudetto makes me really laugh, as once upon the time I posted such a talk in the PDL forum and unfortunately some people start to reply as I am someone not living in this world!!!! eventhought I exclude this option at the moment but I think we can do something remarkable with such players, mentality, spirit, and with fans and club support.

Last but not least, If those fans followed Lazio path during the 97-98 and 98-99 season would know what I am all talking about!

I'm curious what Rossi will do when everybody is fit again. Will he still use a 4-3-2-1 or will he use again a 4-3-3 like the second half of last year.
I would like to see that 4-3-3 again with
Carizzo
De Silvestri Cribari Radu Kolarov
Matuzalem Ledesma Foggia
Rocchi Pandev Zarate

I think we need Dabo in there, or someone with some strong defensive midfield qualities. We've been exposed a couple of times lacking that.

but then we need to drop an inform player. real headaches for Rossi scratch

Yes you're right I think, we probably can't play with zarate pandev rocchi and foggia in the same regular eleven. Its too attacking

It lookes good but I think we should keep one of Matuzalem, Foggia, Rocchi or Zarate on the bench to bring on as a sub to change things about.

I am a great fan of Mr. Rossi but I believe the time has come for him to go. Week after week we see the same mistakes and the same lacklustre start of the team. Things are not working, they were already not working since last season. Our impressive start just masked these problems. I keep hoping Rossi finds the cure, but I am doubtfull. Perhaps there is just no chemistry with the players anymore and we need a fresh face before the group.
Tactically Rossi is very repetive in his formation but constantly changing individual players, something that does not help team organization at all.
The team needs a big wake up call and some renewed inspiration, two things a doubt Rossi can give at this moment.

What would Napoli want with Rossi they are ahead of us in the table and Reja (?) has done a decent job I suppose...

It's that time of the year again, the mercato is around the corner and these rumours are going to drive me crazy as they always do.

I don't want Donadoni. He's not the right person for us in this moment. We need something else,a coach who works with ambition, with heart and has a planned project for us.A person who's hungry for performance and who knows that Lazio is not a joke.Lazio is everything!!!
Btw,anyone has an idea who could be the perfect man if we need him?

Simeone is the most make sense option... maybe he failed in his last year in river plate but he was successful in his early years and the failure only makes him a stronger coach...

But if Lotito is crazy enough (but also genious), he should find a Dutch coach... they were always been great everywhere... Hiddink, Advocaat, Rijkaard, Van Gaal, Martin Jol, Leo Beenhakker, Gullit etc.. you name it, all of them were successful everywhere... just an idea guys.. please don't attack this idea with the reason that they don't have any experience in Serie A... they have successful experiences in football managing... that is the one that matter..

Simeone is my preferred option, he knows Lazio, has management experience and the most important thing he is Laziale.
A Dutch coach sounds like a nice idea. Adriaanse perhaps? I am afraid though that the language barrier is the main problem here.
I doubt though Lotito would ever consider it.

Tricky to find a good replacement. I would think Donadoni could be the man as he has a name and that should attract Lotito as he wants to brag with what he has managed to bring. What other serious options are out there? Simeone?

Donadoni as head, Di Canio as assistant cheers

Im sure Lotito would stay away from Simeone due to his charachter, something like a Di Canio! The fans love Simeone so much that if something he wants wouldn't be granted than the fans would want to kill Lotito's ass.
