Great match, and my heart goes out to the Turkish team / fans! You embraced the tournament and gave it your all. More clubs should follow your lead!

Germany came out and looked identical to the way the Dutch did against Germay and paid the price, dropping 0-1. The Turks kept pressing and in the end, Germany did receive a nice goal minutes after, but Turkey really owned this game, IMO.

In the end, Germany finally used their talent wisely, instead of trying to play defensive ball.

Regardless of who wins today - I want them to take down Germany!!!

VIVA ESPANA!

Pale shadow of Russia and flawless Spain , apparently the might of Pavliuchenko , Arshavin , Zhirkov etc. was drained.
I hope Spain has learnt the lesson of Portugal and will give one to Germany.

But still, Fabregas is wonderful to watch tongue It's hard to keep him outside the starting eleven.

for sure, cesc and silva are the definite sparks for spain right now. fabregas's two assists tonight were absolute class. i'm afraid iniesta will lose his spot, but i'm not completely opposed to aragones fielding the same starting eleven come sunday, with cesc as a super-sub.

A great win by Spain to knock out Russia.... fully deserved victory and the final promises to be an exciting encounter.... I like both teams and both have played good football to get to the final. Spain the more attractive style of football but Germany has a great mentality and strength.... I am really looking forward to the match! Very Happy

I suppose it was well deserved Spain ended the tournament as winner.

I was a bit surprised since their national team was never to be considered a real power, neither in the Euro or in the World Cup history. But then again, this is probably one of the best ever Spain teams, so perhaps they finally put all the theories behind their endless colapses to rest. I thought they played a good tournament, but I wonder if they had held water if better "tournament teams" like France and Italy had been at their real strength. My guess is No, but that is all theory.

Germany ??? What is there to say about them ? I have to admire them somehow. The players that have made up the german team for the last decade is arguably the worst ever german team in the history of the Euro and the World Cup. In sense of talent that is. There is hardly one single player that is something out of the ordinary. Still they have managed a Euro final, a World Cup final and a World cup semi final during that time. Quite impressive. Their mentality is just incredible, but obviously their lack of talent was decisive tonight.

Overall I think it was a decent Euro, although it certainly received more praise than it deserved in my point of view. Mostly because we see too many of the best players, who after a long season are just not motivated enough to bring anything. The players that have impressed the most are not the real superstars, but rather the second best, the upcoming stars... That is of course with the exception of Spain.

Modric, Arshavin, Pavlychenko, Altintop, Chiellini, Nihat, Silva, Senna, Zhirkov.... just to name those I was mostly impressed by.

Henry, Ribery, Ronaldo, Gattuso, Toni, Pirlo, Ballack.... just to name a few of the superstars that failed to a bigger or lesser degree in my opinion.

A well deserved victory for Spain.... and nice to see them win something and play great football as they have always have a good, capable team but unfortunately could not get it together. Well done Aragones and company!

Germany had a good tournament too I believe and also played good attacking football.... unlucky at some stages but hope they recover well in time for the WC as I am sure they will perform strongly there once again!

It was a good tournament in my opinion, not the greatest, but good I thought. Always nice to see some bright up and coming youngsters do well and light up the pitch. At the same time some players who were expected to do better did not live up to that.

Overall I did enjoy the tournament - at least the second part of it as I had my uni exams during the group stages and 2 or so quarter final matches Very Happy and both Switzerland and Austria should be acknowledged for the good tournament they made and set up!
