Good Euro and a good final. Germany came close numerous times, but in the end, I do think Spain deserved it.

They played great football through out the whole tourny and did what they did best. Attacked. I'm more shocked
that the game ended 1-0 and not 3-2 or something. So many CLOSE opportunities. However, in the end, it was just
that simple Torres goal that counted. I'm also happy Torres got the winner. He had been pretty darn unlucky up
until this game. Regardless, Spain is young and GOOD! They play with heart and passion. Good team, though I
don't care for Aragones one bit.

VIVA ESPANA!!!

Nice to see the German team take the defeat with dignity. No crying which is so evident these days and Ballack openly said he thought the Spaniards were the most deserving team in the tournament. The Germans are so good at looking at a defeat and analyzing where they went wrong and what they should do to improve.A few other teams could follow their example.

Great final and many congrats to Spain. They played exactly how they should have and kept Germany against the wall. Really glad Xavi was recognized as the player of the tournament, sometimes I feel the little engine goes unrecognized.

Can't believe Domenech kept his job. He must have pretty powerful friends. In 2006 he did everything to stop Zidane from taking France to the final, and now France was the worst team on the tournament. Still he stays.

It was sad to see Ballack lose another final.... the commentators were saying he has been in 5 finals and lost them all (including UCL twice, EURO, WC and another one which I can not remember).... he is a very good player and I hope he wins something soon, as does Germany.

I really like the German team and even though before the tournament started I wanted them to win, I was very happy the Spain won it as was nice to see them get it together at a big stage for once in a very long time for a country with such talented players and clubs as theirs. Well done Spain!

UEFA EURO 2008™ Team of the Tournament
Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Iker Casillas (Spain), Edwin van der Sar (Netherlands).

Defenders: Bosingwa (Portugal), Philipp Lahm (Germany), Carlos Marchena (Spain), Pepe (Portugal), Carles Puyol (Spain), Yuri Zhirkov (Russia).

Midfielders: Hamit Altıntop (Turkey), Luka Modrić (Croatia), Marcos Senna (Spain), Xavi Hernández (Spain), Konstantin Zyryanov (Russia), Michael Ballack (Germany), Cesc Fàbregas (Spain), Andrés Iniesta (Spain), Lukas Podolski (Germany), Wesley Sneijder (Netherlands).

Forwards: Andrei Arshavin (Russia), Roman Pavlyuchenko (Russia), Fernando Torres (Spain), David Villa (Spain).

What do you all think?

I think it is pretty well done. I think Schweinsteiger and Silva should be there and perhaps Capdevila and Metzelder. Akinfeev had a very good tournament. Another Turkish player should have been included - like Hakan Balta for example. But in all I think a very well put out team.

Also nice to see that the 3 Spanish Barcelona players all made the list (Xavi, Puyol and Iniesta) Very Happy

Yeah thats also true. But I feel that the 2 Spaniard and Russian forwards did deserve it more. Although Nihat had a very good tournament.
