Matuzalem, Brocchi, Ledesma.. what a scary midfield..

Rochi, Pandev, Zarate... what a problematic attack for the oppositions defense...

Carizzo... a man with quick hands and legs...

The defense.. a bit scary.. but i believe in our young guns.. Kolarov on the left, Di Silvestri on the right... Radu in the center with Rozenhal..

I see a very strong and hungry team here guys..

WE ARE GENIUNE CONTENDERS FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL!!

You mean Rocchi,Pandev,Makinwa,no?Cause Rossi has only Makinwa in his mind. The team is hungry for new signings too,but looking at other teams(Napoli,Genoa,Fiorentina,Atalanta; I don't mention the rich clubs) it will be a hard season for us.And CL?!I'm not pesimistic, but let's be realistic...

maurito zarate played as a winger yesterday.
he scored 3 goals.
let's think positive!

sorry to bother you but brocchi came for free, it's written in daniele rindone's report.

his agreement with milan was to expire in 2009 and so galliani let him free for no fee.

That means all the whining here was for nothing

I wouldn't call 1.8 mill € over the course of two years free but this argument is over. He's here now and there's nothing we can do about it.

Break a leg Brocchi Twisted Evil

Break a leg? So you'd prefer us paying a big wage to an injured player? Stop whining. If nothing else having Brocchi around will mean Firmani will hardly ever get to play which in my mind is very positive.

If the wage is indeed 900 000 euro per year, it shows Brocchi is raring to go because he could have simply bench warmed at Milan and receive almost twice as much. I think it''s not bad to have such players as opposed to the likes of Cesar or Jimenez who were more than ready to go warm the bench at Inter.

"Break a leg" is a phrase coined to wish someone good luck http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Break_a_leg

So we hired a bench-warmer and now we're going to bench Firmani without giving him a proper shot? that's like a good thing?
we already know Brocchi is nothing special, we could have atleast went on a limb with Fabio.

And your logic "well atleast he's no Cesar or Jimenez" does not fly, Mudy and Muta did not want to go.
I'll "whine" all I want, I have every right to disagree with the management decisions as do you to support them.

Peace

Not bench...get rid of Firmani ASAP, hopefully. Very Happy

Brocchi might not be anything special but at least he is not a Serie B quality player like Firmani.

I haven't noticed Mutarelli going anywhere yet but when a player is deemed to be a troublemaker he is ostracised, now whether this is true or not, I don't know but it makes Mutarelli's desire to stay rather irrelevant. As for Mudingayi, he left more than a month ago, the other options to get a DM failed to materialise, so we got Brocchi. Not ideal but much better than having just Firmani on this position.

Well in the context it sounded too ambigiously, sorry for the mistake.

I dont really like this signing, not really makes me amazed.
Why we must buy a player like him which we have already some?
His name also will be confusing for tv commentator when Rocchi plays... scratch

Wow! People are really upset about Brocchi arriving. In all honesty, have you seen him play? He is good, he can go forward as well as play a solid defensive game. He has a great shot, and he is a decent passer. A very versatile player indeed. I think a player like Brocchi was exactly what we needed; experienced, tough and a player I am having a hard time seeing as a trouble maker in the dressing room. When he has played, has it been for Milan or any other team, he has done a good job and during his spell at viola he was one of their most prominent players I would say. Yes, he is a bit old and he did cost us a few mil, but he will last a couple of years but with the situation that we were in regarding midfielders and considering how many (or rather few) days left of the mercato we should all be pretty pleased with Brocchi. A team cannot only consist of young players. Also, it is good having a player in the squad that has lowered their wages only to get the chance to play a few more games this season.

As you can see I am feeling better and better about this transfer, even though I still have a hard time totally undertanding Lotitos mercato strategy.

And besides, I like Firmani and I think some of you see him as a weaker player than he really is. He hasnt ever really screwed up, and he is an honest player not trying to play a game he cant master. He plays simple, and is a destructive DM(even though he manages to score every now and then) and I think he holds more than "serie B" quality, as some of you puts it. For his own development he probably needs to leave us, but I would be more than happy to see him stay!

We are at a forum and people have different opinions...

Havent had access to internet for some time so just heard about this. Not a bad signing I think, a stable player that will always do his best.

Exactly, i'm really happy at this transfer. If you look to near the start of the thread I actually said why can't we go for Brocchi? Maybe Lotito spies on me. Very Happy

Great post Cash.... I agree with you definitely and it seems Brocchi is raring to go for Lazio so that is already a good start from him. I think he will turn out to be a very important player for Rossi and Lazio. Can't wait to see him in action!

Brocchi embraces Lazio career Saturday 30 August, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former Milan midfielder Cristian Brocchi reveals why he opted to join Lazio. “They were my first choice.”

The 32-year-old has spent the last seven seasons at San Siro with a brief 2005-06 loan spell at Fiorentina.

“I come to Rome with real motivation. I won a great deal with the Milan jersey and I cannot deny it is difficult to walk away from that,” he explained.

“It was very moving when on my last day the entire squad gave me a round of applause. Unfortunately, this year I would’ve struggled to find space in the team and so I decided to leave.”

Lazio have been at the centre of controversy over the past few months with several players – including Cristian Ledesma and Massimo Mutarelli – stating they wanted to walk away after contract rows.

“I know the President and the Coach wanted me here very much and I too have always placed Lazio at the top of my list,” insisted Brocchi.

“It is an important club with great ambition and I am convinced we can qualify for the UEFA Cup. Now I put myself at the disposal of Coach Delio Rossi.”

He could make his Biancocelesti debut on Sunday afternoon away to Cagliari.

“Physically I am ready, as I worked very hard in pre-season with Milan. Tactically I still need to get to grips with the new side.”

Brocchi is already looking forward to his first Derby della Capitale, which he expects to be very different from the Derby della Madonnina.

“The derby in Rome means a lot more to the fans than it does in Milan. If we play to the top of our abilities, then we can win it. Besides, I’ve already scored against Roma in my career, so why shouldn’t I do it again?”

Brilliant cheers Forza Brocchi!

I wasn't his biggest fan,I wasn't happy when we were rumoured to him,but in some days I've changed my mind.My opinion is that we haven't got a this kind a player a long time ago.I must say he was the man for the midfield.I remember when he was at Fiorentina,he made very good matches, then I was thinking why couldn't we sign him.At Milan he was a reserve and probably that was the reason why I don't wanted him at Lazio. But I think this is the solution,to have some experienced player near the young ones. The midfield is a palce where you can't play only with fantasy, you need experience too.Btw,he came on free?
Welcome Brocchi!!!Forza Laziooooo!!!
