Lucky Strike, this was a wonderful post by you. Love it. I too dissappeared off the radar but am now back.

We are actually grinding out results even though it might not be pretty football. The test will be against Juve. We shall see.

Lotito needs to treat people with respect. Just because he is the president of Lazio, it does not mean he can act like we are his slaves.

I've had one full day to allow the message that Ali posted to sink in, to fester in my mind and grow. The conclusion that I've come to is that his sentiments are dead on that too many people look to the superficial of SS Lazio they focus on what or how the team can improve for them and not everyone, yet Ali has shown that we must all remember that we act as one that we must remember that we do things for one cause and that is SS LAZIO. I applaud Ali for the message that he sent to all the users in this forum and those visitors who frequent this forum and to all LAZIALE around the world. You've done what many have wanted but few have been willing to do.

Lotito sucks!

Who gave their lives for Lazio? This is a footballclub nothing more and certainly nothing I or anyone else should ever die for.

Silly posts.

I think Lotito is doing a pretty good job.
Unlike others, I like the way he handled our transfers...people tend to forget the facts and listen to rumours...the facts are that we signed Zarate and Matuzalem who did not come cheap, that we signed Baretto while facing competition from Real and Man U, that we signed Cruz while facing competition from half of Italy, we brought Bizzari as a second keeper which i think it's a great choice, that we lost only Rozenhal from the first team, that we got a good coach who can revitalize Stendardo and Mauri and so on...yeah, sure, Lolo left but his atitude has always been strange and if u cannot compete with Lichsteiner for a first team spot, better move on...Plus we did not lose any of our talents (Kolarov, Radu, Dhiakite, Foggia, even Zarate)
Lotito has his problems, I do not agree with the way he treats Pandev and Ledesma for example...I think they are professional players and they play for pride but also for money...I mean when Pandev is the best player in the team and gets 450k per season while Brocchi gets 1.2 mil, there is certainly a problem...I also think that he listen to much to his advisors..for example, we put so much effort in bringing Carizzo while we had Muslera and forgot until the last day of the mercato that we needed a defender...
However, overall, I think we are doing ok...the start of the season is encouraging...
I hope we integrate Pandev and Ledesma and than we will really be unstopable!
Forza Lazio!

For people who bitch Lotito, here is a summary of the (main) transfers this season:

LOL How silly your post is indeed! Don't take things too literally.... LMAO!
And about transfers, ppl said we didn't sign Zarate and Matu last year as they're only on loan, and they say they're not signed this year too coz they're here already last season! I wonder when they're actually "transferred" in, tbh lol.

I won't deny that parts of his mercato were good, just as you pointed out the bad things. But what you're listing here is a list of offensive players and a goalkeeper. When you have a defence that already failed last season and don't do anything to change it, then you kind of waste the opportunity to make the most out of a mercato. The problem is not the signings itselfs but the prioritys he made and failing to sign a central defender, which I'm pretty convinced Ballardini wanted and expected.

I don't really understand the listen to rumors part. Do you mean players linked to Lazio or rumors about about Lotito's negotiations?

drazvan wrote:

In what way has his atitude been strange? In my book he has always been one of the players showing most Lazialitá. Many players declared how much the liked the club and how greateful they were, but when they were forced to sit on the bench they immediately complained. I never heard or saw De Silvestri complain one single time during last season. Might have been, but in that case I missed it. He accepted that Lotito/Rossi prefered quality before Lazialitá and decided to leave. And what happens? He is left out from the squad accused of being a mercanero...

If case De Silvestri's attitude is wrong, then I can't understand why a player like Stendardo should be given a chance.

drazvan wrote:

As far as I know no club made any attempt to sign them or even showed their interest. Lotito would set the price way to high, and then have to give them up for free when their contracts are starting to expire.

Radu was the only one, Palermo was interested, but apparently Lotito refused the exchange deal including Simplicio.

Speaking of Palermo by the way. In this article Walter Sabatini is giving Lotito a pretty clear message, saying he's proud to say that in Palermo "we don't punish any players as long as they have a contract".

as they say, the more things change the more they stay the same.....

I remember I was still there in the old forums when Lotito came in after we were literally hours away from bankruptcy and Serie C .... i remember Erme writing every 2 hours with 'breaking news' and Mad dog telling him to report facts not rumors........ Very Happy
The squad was put together in about 2 days before the start of the season... we won our first game and then made a draw at the san siro with inter!
Yet I remember people saying against Lotito after only 2 weeks!!!
ahh.... lot has changed since then, yet opinion on Lotito continues to divide us fans.... is he good or bad?

Frankly, there are people here who are closer to the club than me and are able to follow the team more closely.... but I will say this....... he is definitely NOT the worst, and he IS gradually moving the club upward (altho makin some mistakes along the way). He has faced a thousand banners insulting him, a thousand 'gestures' and more. But , bull-headed as he is, he seems determined to carry out his plans.

To me, and I'm sure to many more who suffered the 2002-2005 period, we are definitely better off than we were at that time. Probably not as far forward as we would have been if Lotito would have done things a little differently at times. But hey, I don't think that's reason enough to hang the guy!

one more thing....... FORZA LAZIO

Are people forgetting that we are infact located in Rome not in Catanzaro.

The average age of our squad is not good.
Our salaries are pathetic.
Players take us to court to leave.
We have no official sponsor.
Our youth academy is nothing like it used to be.
Our manager of sports is Taré.
Our president was found guilty of manipulation of the Lazio stock.

If Pandev leaves us for free and Ledesma leave at a discount price we are in serious trouble.

And NEVER forget that it´s thanks to the brand that Cragnotti built people are even talking to Lotito.

maybe he is referring to Patarca being given the boot unceremoniously.... one of the major way forward for us with the kind of budget we have, is to invest in the academy..... lets hope we find other jewels from there... and soon enough so they could replace the ageing players....

this is one area where the administration can always improve.... and I certainly agree with those who criticise their actions for this case.... but to blame Lotito everytime the day ends and night starts, is too much.

I don't want to be drawn into this debate but I will quickly pass comment on the youth system.

It irritates me that we are developing talents for other teams to steal. Right now, I don't feel it is worth investing in the academy. As soon as the rules change (which I believe they will) then it becomes a different matter altogether.

I actually think taking risks on the Barreto's and Kozak's is the right approach at present.

I agree that current laws are a joke...

Maybe in future we can have it both ways... i.e. developing a future Nesta as well as grabbing people like Iago etc.

As Sile already mentioned Macheda. We also had De Silvestri, and have Tuia, Faraoni, Mendicino, Perpetuini, and Cinelli. Regardless of whether they stay here we still produced them.

I'm sure one day you will find something positive about our team.... No
