Well Lichsteiner have been our best player so far, at the moment I think he is alot better then De Silvestri.

It sux for Lorenzo, it's been a long time since we have actually had a good talent from our youth team this good and he is a laziale. We should try rotate them more and let De Silvestri play the last 30 min of our matches.

Lichtsteiner.

He is in far better shape than Lorenzo. I've watched some of Italy's games at the Olympics and Lorenzo was quite unimpressive.

I just hope that De Silvestri doesn't decide to leave Lazio because he isn't getting any playing time here and he could theoretically go to a club like Milan and be an understudy to someone like Zambrotta and possibly in a few years time take over from him. Not to mention the money he could earn over there. Let's not forget that Ranieri is a big fan of his and he may like his odds of getting a place there with both Grygera and Zebina out of form.

As long as Lichtsteiner is performing, then my philosophy is: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Unanimous so far, 11-0 in favor of Stephan, he is really playing well this season and I wouldn't be surprised if we even see him on the score sheet soon.

definitely Lichtsteiner.. I really don't know how many assists he'll provide if we have a quality towering striker like Gilardino

Lorenzo will get the starting place.. if :

- Licht injured
- Change of tactic.. both of them play together
- Licht tired after playing for Swiss
- playing Coppa Italia
- next season we get place in Europe, then he'll have many times to prove his worth..
- somehow when he gets the chance he playing better than Licht

Please be patient De Silvestri.. you'll get there someday..

For the time being I too choose Lichtsteiner. This guy is having a very good season for Lazio and performing well.

It sucks for De Silvestri though, especially after he had a good season with Lazio last time out where he really broke into the first team. As some of you have already mentioned, I too hope he does not get frustrated and decides to leave Lazio as a result of not getting much playing time. He is not at his best yet but if given more chances and time I am sure he can regain his best form and offer very good competition for the RB spot.

Lichtsteiner is playing good but this season Rossi didn't give a single chance to Silvestri(except Coppa game).
That why it is difficult for me to evaluate who is better.

I am afraid that if this continues , very soon we will be watching Silvestri wearing other colors Crying or Very sad

For the moment Lichtsteiner is the better one, that's why he should play even though I love Lorenzo.

I don't know how are you with this, guys, but I wish Lorenzo could be better than Lichti.I've voted Lichti, cause in this moments he's the best choice. But I want Lorenzo to become a symbol for Lazio! And not the next Nesta Crying or Very sad
I think we can resolve this,if Rossi will play with 4-4-2 and then he can move Lichti to the midfield.

De Silvestri!

Lichty has been a huge surprise, played well and been one of the most influential players. However, I would like to see Lorenzo now, as Lichty has lost a bit of his quality the last few games (just as the rest of the team). Lichty is good, no doubt, and he is more experienced than LDS, but there are a few players in our team that have been playing all games so far this season, as well as participating in NT games, and Lichty is one of them. To make some kind of a point that things need to be changed on the field after the last three disasters, some players have to be replaced now. It is time he gets some rest and Lorenzo is thrown in to show what he can give. In Lorenzo we have a future player for the Italian NT, a guy coming from our own ranks, and a player that has loads of interest from other teams. To make sure he stays, he must be given some playing time and I do not think that Lichty has shown such great skills, and being so influential, that we should count him a miles above our own eagle.

To add a bit to this discussion, I could see both of them playing in a game like today where we are short of players. Either the left side could be covered by Radu and Kolarov (my suggestion for the line-up today), or the right side could be covered by Lichty and LDS. Playing with both Dabo and Brocchi alongside Ledesma is not offensive enough against teams we should win over, and with Mauri, Foggia, Meghni, Matuzalem, Manfredini out need to use one of our wingers to step up a position on the midfield to help out offensiveley...

Couldn't agree more Cash!
I would add that we haven't seen anything from De Silvestri to compare with Lichtsteiner yet. Yes Stephan has been good and a big surprise in some respects but Lorenzo has the ability to do equally well, and be that bandiera we all want. I was sure we would see Stephan in midfield sometimes when Lorenzo came back from the Olympics to claim the right-back slot but the boss doesn't seem to want to change the 3 man midfield.

Since they are equal on the pitch (well, we didn't see Lorenzo this season, but last season he showed his value and was impressive the whole season) I prefer Lollo, because I'll always prefer a homegrown player to a foreigner who one day may go away and do not care about Lazio anymore.. Thats why I want atleast one true Roman Laziale who can become our new Symbol!

And I don't want to lose a talent like De Silvestri, but I'm afraid if he won't get many chances here, he'll find place in other team. This would hurt us very much

Stephan has been much better then anyone of us thought but still my vote is on Lorenzo. He has it all in him, want to see him get moore chances to proove it. So he can grow in to beeing our new symbol in the future like many has talked about earlier. I am for rotation on this two guys because both are good enough to start so it's a pitty having one of them (especially our own kid) sitting on the bench game in and game out.
But when the match starts I support the one of them on the pitch to 100%

Good statement Cash.
Players needs to understand that they are ALL important in any occasion.
Lorenzo and Lich are both strong runners-

I am impressed by Lich determination, intelligence, capability to understand the Match.
I am impressed by Lorenzo too.

Today is too early and " offensive" to open a Pool because Lorenzo did nt had the chance in this season to show up in a equal balance himself.
Our opinions are determinated by the visual timing of each one and Lich played 80% of the whole matches.

So far, my opinion, i believe that Lich and Lorenzo could share togheter the place and be ready for the Mr match by match because if one is tired the other is ready to help and viceversa-
This is the way to be an build a strong Team.

In this case I cant decide actually.

Licht has been a revelation of the season for us, while at the same time I would like to see De Silvestri progress further and become list Nesta for us.

Can`t decide.

I think we really need the physical presence of Lichtsteiner. Not that De Silvestri is weak physically, far from it, but Lichtsteiner seems by far the fittest player in our team thus far, he is like everywhere on the right flank in every game I have watched and it's very difficult for the opponents to outmuscle him off the ball. Maybe we should use de Silvestri (provided he gets into form) for games against teams who don't threaten much on their left flank and/or when our flank is covered by the other tireless guy - Brocchi or Lichtsteiner himself and not by someone more offensive minded like Foggia or Matuzalem.

a shame they both play as right defender, because both deserve it to be in the first eleven. But only one can play offcourse. Unless you put lorenzo on the left side. He has played there with the national team also...

It would be an insult to Lichsteiner if we bench him now when he has been the best player in the team since the very beginning of the season.

Lollo will just have to wait 'till Lichti has a dip in form, gets suspended or injured and then grab his chance. It's a long season and he will gert his share of games.

DeSilvestri won┤t wear another jersey beacuse few clubs will want him. He has to fight for his place just like everynoe in the squad except for Carizzo because he has no competition :)

Both of them are really strong and deserve to be in the starting line-up, but they can't ... I think that Rossi should give both of them alot of chances to play and to show what they can do. I don't want De Silvestri to leave the club, because of not having been given chances to play more often, but I also want Lichtsteiner to play in the starting 11.
