Amazing goals scored by Lampard against Hull City and Bentley against Arsenal.

Those two goals are must.

Arsenal and Tottenham made a fantastic game last night! It's the best english derby IMO and here you can see alot of goals ... not like in the other games between Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool where the score is 0-0, 1-1 or 1-0 ..

BTW: SuperBERBA!

His playing style really does not suit EPL.

He is destined to return to Serie A, sooner or later.

Redknapp is doing a really good job at Spurs, really turning things around. Then again, so did Ramos when he started.

If he can get another striker in (with different characteristics to the ones he has) and a left winger (Kranjčar or Downing) they are going to be a quality outfit.
As soon as Redknapp arrived Bentley started to look like Bentley of last season and Modrić is getting better at his play making role. Spurs just need to have luck with injuries to Woodgate and King and hope that Gomes doesn't spill too many balls.

Very strange this Arsenal team. They play awful against fener, lose to Stoke and now ther are up 2-0 against Man U. One day they look as if they will be competeing for the silverware, the next day the question is how long it will take for Arsenal managemanet to understand that is is impossible to win things if you only have teenagers in your team...

Yeah I feel the same towards Arsenal. One day they are very impressive the next they can hardly pass the ball around but the performance against United was very good and they deserved the victory. Maybe they have got it right after a few on and off weeks!? We will have to wait and see. My friend who supports Arsenal told me they play Aston Villa next match day so that should be an interesting match to see how they do after a great win against United and see if their target of silverware this season looks in good shape or not. I admire Arsenal and Wenger so would like to see them challenge for the title well this season.

Liverpool won 3-0 over WBA so good to see them back to winning ways and Robbie Keane got 2 of the goals!

Hull City lost to Bolton.... I have started liking them after such a good start to the season but in recent weeks they have slowly started losing the good momentum they had built over the first few weeks of the campaign.

The Hull story has probably peaked a while back. Now no team will underestimate them the way it was done earlier this season and therefore they are slowly sinking in the table. They have had an impressive start, but really their team is not strong enough to fight up there with the stronger teams..

Everton really trashed West Ham in the last minutes of the game. Zola seems to have failed with turning the trend, is it 4 defeats in a row now? Must be something like that. They should have brought in a tactician focusing on the defence. I heard today that they have not kept a clean sheat in the last 23 games in PL or so...

Man Shitty VS Man United.......... Ok I have to add something about this derby..... In the past I was thinking that in England there can never be a local derby of such a high level like Lazio vs Roma, Inter vs Milan, Atletico vs Real, Partizan vs Red Star ast...... Liverpool vs Everton and Arsenal vs Tottenham, Manchester united vs Shitty are known so called derbies but there was somethingf missing there to be in the same group as the first three that I named... But now Manchester derby is growing to something that has a lot o f potential to be in that group.... Money does make the world go around and the hate between the fans is there so I do believe that from now on this will be a great derby...... Ofcourse as a die hard United fan I expect us to win it but in a way of humiliation Very Happy

Premier League has sold its soul and is not coming filled with emotions any longer. Only visit a stadium duringa game and you will see. The smaller teams (some of them make it up to PL) have some passion oeft and when I visit England I always try to watch games from the lower leagues. Even the Championship is better to watch than EPL. And there you have the reason to the fact that a game in EPL, no matter if it is a derby or not, wil never be compared to a game like Lazo-merda...

I know many United and City fans. Believe me when I say Man U fans hate Liverpool and City fans hate Man U.

2 teams need to be consistently at the same level to have intense hatred towards each other. With City having cash now, I imagine this will become a massive derby again soon. But never on a par with Lazio - Merda.

So, it appears their are LOTS of rumors flying around Chelsea this week that Scolari, who once had a strong reputation with the team and supporters is on the verge of being sacked.

Recently, Scolari has lost many of these admirers as the Blues have been struggling over the past couple of months.

They limped through to the last 16 of the Champions League, while the record in their last five Premier League games is just two wins, two draws and a defeat.

According to the English press, Scolari has lost some sections of the dressing room, with a number of players believing that he doesn’t possess what it takes to succeed at the club.

Roberto Mancini has been linked with Chelsea on a number of occasions over the past year or so, and he has been sighted in London several times recently along with his close friend and agent Giorgio De Giorgis.

Mancini is still under contract at Inter until 2012, having been dismissed at the end of last season, and there are still some compensation issues to sort out, which Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti has declared he hopes to sew up very soon.

Nevertheless, there is strong speculation that Scolari will be sacked at the beginning of next month, and Roman Abramovich will offer Mancini the opportunity to replace him.

_____________

I'm not sure what to make of this. With regards to the EPL, Scolari has Chelsea 1 point behind Liverpool. Sir Alex and the lot are 6 points behind Chelsea and 7 pts behind Liverpool. I don't think Chelsea are playing THAT bad of soccer in the EPL, perhaps it's a simple fact that Liverpool are playing great in the EPL (w/ out Torres too).

With regards to the CL, they finished with 11 pts, 1 behind Roma (they lost to Rioma 1-3 and drew with Bordeux / CFR Cluj - that was why they didn't win their group). However, they didn't really FAIL. The real test is now, as they have Juventus.

Regardless, at this point, is it wise to bring in Mancini? He's a fine coach...he did well at Lazio and Inter, but not sure if it makes sense to bring him in NOW. Perhaps Roman thinks bringing in Mancini will help him beat Juvenuts - a team Mancini has played in the past, quite a bit?

Got me!

Would be pure stupidity to sack Scolari already. They must give him some time. I dont really care about Chelsea nor PL, but it would be a sign of stupidity to let him go. And Mancini taking over? Makes me laugh...Mancini is far from being a world class coach, in my eyes he is still a second class leader, while Scolari is a top class one. I would think this is all just rumours, all big clubs are having a fairly tough season this year as the PL seem tighter than it has done the last few years. I am sure that the right way for Chelsea would be to give him some time to actually shape the team.

Mancini is perfect for Chelsea.

He is not a top coach but he has a knack of winning trophies and cash wins his heart. Him and Abramovich are a match made in heaven.

I have to disagree with you and say Scolari is not a top coach. Scolari's only significant achievement in football is winning the World Cup with Brazil in 20o2. In all honesty, I could have coached that team to glory, we all could, even Delio could manage it Twisted Evil

Scolari then significantly underachieved with Portugal. The best tournament Portugal had in recent years was Euro 2000 with a team far inferior to the team Scolari coached. For me, Scolari is overrated. No EPL experience, no success in club management really and not much to boast internationally. Best coach Chelsea have had in the last 10 years? Avram Grant.

Cant agree with any of your points man. Mancini has won what? league titles that have been designed for Inter to win, what else? Oh, maybe I could agree with the Avram Grant point...they shopuld have kept Ten Cate, he is a great coach. Scolari has a brain for football, and a very interesting approach to tactics. I think he is far better than Mancini, and play alot more entertaining game.

Scolari won more prestigious cup like Libertadores and World cup than Mancini.

Portugal is not underachieving under Scolari. Runner-up in Euro 2004 is their best achievement in European Championship, I think.
Forth place in WC 2006 is their best in 40 years.
