The fact Lotito says he has to free up a non-EU spot means he plans to bring in 2 non-EU players this summer.

I've read the non-EU rules and that's the only reason I can see for needing to free up a non-EU spot.

Which begs the question: who's the other guy coming in?

Could very well be Fernandez, although that would contradict Veron move. Maybe he wants to keep his options open.

Although thinking about it, is it not 2 EU players per season which is why he said he'd have to free one space to bring Veron now, rather than wait til the summer when we would have the space for the move.

That could be it but it's vague in every source as to whether he's referring to this mercato or the next one.

The way the articles are phrased suggests to me that he is referring to June when saying he needs to free a non-EU spot.

No , it is not like that as far as I know. When we took Carizzo , we didn't sell non Eu players. Do you remember such move ?
You have the right of 2 non Eu players per season. That is the rule...

You have the right of 2 non-EU additions per season correct. and you don't have to release anyone if you want to sign 2 non-EU players

however, the Lega Calcio has a maximum of 5 non-EU players in the squad. So I take it we already have 5 non-EU players in our squad??

Kolarov , Muslera , Carrizo , Zarate are 100% Non Eu.
Crabari , Makinwa I don't know about them.

This rule , 5 non Eu players in the squad or on the field , why I recall something about the field ? pirat

Muslera is EU, remember we got him during the Carrizo passport problems so he must be EU
Cribari is EU as well, has Italian heritage.

I think even Zarate maybe EU. not sure about that.

What about Pandev??

Hehe , I am in total mess then.
About Pandev , I read somewhere that he has obtained Eu passport already. But I am not sure , it could be he will obtain soon or something , something .....

I'll try and find the source but what I read is that if you want to bring TWO non-EU players into your squad, then you must sell ONE of the existing non-EU players.

You can bring ONE non-EU player in and there's no regulation against it.

You can bring in TWO per season IF there's NO non-EU players in the squad already.

The sources I read could be wrong but that's what they said.

Cribari is EU as far as I know and Makinwa is EU because African players are not allowed to be treated as non-EU players by law. Africa and the EU have an agreement.

The latest reports claim Lotito might be up for bringing on Veron, but in June.

The non-EU regulation is pretty messed up as noone seems to have a clue about how the regulations actually work...add to that that it is impossible to know what players in a club actually are counted as non-EU...

Veron, fresco 34enne, è ambito, cercato e richiesto.

Ok ok .....translation?

There is a chance to see Veron back.
And there is another chance:: El Cholo....

Only a chance....money talks.

It´s clear that Veron would be great if he comes back. There would be more passion on the pitch and I think there also would be more people coming to Olympico. Only because Veron would be back.

But...I have to say, that we wouldn´t have many years with Veron - maybe one or two.

I would prefer Elano. He was nearly joining us in the winter. If he wants to leave Man City in the summer, we should go for him.

Yesterday against HSV he was awesome. He was the best player on the pitch. He´s becoming 28, so he´s in the best years of his carriere.

goal.com has the team of the decade and at here how it looks like

Peruzzi

Oddo - Nesta - Mihajlovic - Favalli

Conceição - Simeone - Nedved

Veron

Rocchi - Zarate

I would focus you on the attacking trident..... CLAUDIO BRING VERON!

This rumour is back again according to Gazzetta & Corriere dello Sport.
Veron's team will face Pohang Steelers, which is a Korean one today.
I would watch if Veron could be useful for us.
