I think Lazio really missed players like Dabo and Radu today - along with better finishing, and better defending!

What is wrong with carizzo??
Why at 1:4 he is trying to dribble in front of his goal line??? This really makes me nervous, beside this he didn't save nothing.. Bring back Ballota or put Muslera in, I don't know do something this is not a goalkeeper I expcted to be!
I think it's not Rossi's fault, tacticly we was OK and manage to do some chances..
NEED CHANGES...

Embarrassing. Not much more to say. We just can't keep on playing well only for 20 to 45 minutes per game. And especially not with the form of our defence and goalkeeper. I am not going to go for the knee jerk reaction of "sell everyone, fire the coach, kill he president" but I really want to see reaction next game. Embarassing displays happen to everyone (Atalanta - Inter for instance) but this season we jsut can't seem to learn from our mistakes.

first of all, cagliari were far better than us. Tey had a clear game plan and they trashed our defence only by studying what weaknesses we have.

Not going to make a longer comment, but hopefully this meant that everyone involved understands how poor our defence is, and that Dia is not yet Serie A material. We have to do something about the defence, it is a detail that has been a disaster for two seasons now - and nothing is made. Yes, we did purchase Roz and Radu, but what is the use iof they are of no quality?

This round turned out to be the worse possible. I knew that we would be seriously hurt because of our defenders (including a weak Carrizo), but I did not think Cagliari would be the team to give it to us like this. We slipped down to 9th, and we just saw merda pass us with an imoressive game away to napoli. Guess all teams are faced with ups and downs...but when we go down, we fall far to hard.

Samp away on wednesday, that is the only way to think now. Hopefully we can avoid the fall to go on as we have some extremely tough games coming up now...samp, then milan, then viola...darkness...

This is in my opinion the formation we should use.

We got the shittiest defence in serie A...and the shittiest goalkeeper. I am very surprised that Carizzo is no.1 choice for Maradona...even in the Armenian national team Carizzo probably would've been a sub...
Brocchi is smelling as, so is Zarate who thinks that football is a game of 1 person...Rocchi is a smelling as captain because he didn't manage to encourage the team and control it...besides, he missed a very important penalty.
Lotito is smelling as, because he thinks that if a team has 3 good strikers, it doesn't need the 4th one...Lotito is smelling as, because he refuses to buy a good defender(s!!!). Rossi is smelling as, because he is smelling as...he doesn't care if Lazio plays well or not, because he knows he's not a Lazio class coach...but he's got a good job, and hey, why not keep it as long as you can!

This is EMBARRASING AND I AM VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

LOTITO E DELIO VAFFANCULO! VAFFANCULO! VAFFANCULO!

I came in for a bit of criticism in the ChatBox as people believe that I think this defence is good enough. This defence is the weak area of the team but Lotito spent the majority of this season's transfer budget on Rozehnal and Radu. Many praised that decision at the time and now many are calling Lotito a fool for signing them. I will try and avoid hypocrisy by doing that but questions need to be asked of our defence.

If Siviglia was match fit, Diakite wouldn't have played so I can't fault that selection but why does Delio insist on playing Roz and Dia over Cribari. Emilson has made far less mistakes than anyone else this season and we should put last season behind us and give him a crack at the whip.

Forget murdering coach and president, we do not have the financial muscle to contend with our peers. We haven't got the finances to make new acquisitions, it's up to Rossi to work with what we've got and Lotito to find a solution in the future. If we lost today due to mistakes, it's because of mistakes we made in previous mercati, not this one. Anyone, it's one day, a capitulation but it doesn't have to affect the season.

We have a UEFA Cup team bar the defence. We know where we have to improve, we just don't have the funds to do anything about it. We're beginning to lose this race and the Coppa is now vital. Absolutely vital.

Forget about this game and look to Samp with all the opticism you can muster.

Remember Cribari against Bologna? Rozenhal usually delivers but with no organization whatsoever in our defence you can frankly put any star in there and he will suffer. Notice rubentus with their endless injuries and makeshift formation - they manage to not look like a bunch of fools in defence not just because they have a wealth of quality DMs but because they are organized well. Look at our defence - second goal - what is Lichtsteiner doing on the left flank? Why the short Brocchi (IIRC) has to jump for the ball and not a CB? What is Carrizo doing coming out when the Cagliari player had no angle for a good shot? And so on. The keeper and the defenders look as if they almost play in different teams. I think individually our defence is better than in 2006/7 but as a unit it's a total mess.

Forget the founds and the defense and look at the game. Hole game not the defense. Don't tell me that 4 spot was not achievable only because Rossi didn't know to play against bad teams. Let face it we didn't beat top 4 team and thats what bother me also. Its not about the money or the defense the game is lousy.

There's no communication. maybe the language barrier?? or the lack of a true leader?? Carrizo is not commanding enough and neither are the CBs.

Diakite' is a talent but he's young and needs an experienced man alongside him. Rozehnal plays as if he's still at Newcastle.

For all Siviglia's lack of pace and constant fouls, he understands the game and has a good brain. We miss that.

special mention also to Firmani and Rocchi for some passion tonight. Fabio giving it to that riommanista Conti and Rocchi's tears on the bench, he might not be having a good year but at least he bleeds Lazio.

That's what it is, the lack of communication nad team unity. The best our defence has looked is when Rozehnal and Cribari played together. Even then, Carrizo was being daft and acting the idiot and that didn't help but at least we looked solid. It's all Rossi's chopping and changing and JP getting used to the league and his defence. Part of it too is Delio's philosophy that Rozehnal and Cribari are left centrebacks and thus shouldn't be played together.

By the way, if it's a language barrier then surely with JP's Argentinian Spanish and Cribari's Brazilian Portugeuse, that must not be too much of a problem. Or they could just learn "leave the f**king ball" or "it's my ball" in Italian. Not too difficult, surely.

Well done to Cagliari!

The Lazio players had no real desire and motivation today whatsoever - apart from Pandev and the subs played respectively too. What kind of score is 4-1 at home!!?? Its disgraceful against any team. I am really pissed off and the Lazio fans at the Olimpico and the Curva Nord were right in whistling, booing, leaving early and pointing the middle fingers at the end of the match. It was a shocking display and effort. WTF happened!!?? After only 3 minutes Lazio took the lead and from there I calmed down a bit and believed it would turn out to be at least a draw if not more but boy was I completely off. No words about the performance from me right now. True, if both penalty kicks had gone in then I would have been very confident of at least another goal, if not more and Lazio could have had a legendary comeback from 3 goals down to win the match but both penalties that Rocchi and Zarate took were shite. WTF is wrong in smacking the shot right up the centre of the goal!!?? IMO there is always a much, much higher chance of scoring from there then by going flat on the ground to one side or completely going off target. Zarate and Pandev had good chances one on one pretty much but too slow and inaccurate. Towards the end Lazio had a good chance from Ledesma's free kick but Inzaghi completely diverted the ball away. If he had left it, there were 4 players ready to pounce for fucks sake, 4 players dammit and I would have hoped one of them would have scored from such a position! Lazio were unlucky I agree but not enough to make me more calm about the match and result. During the season there have been a lot of games which Lazio lost or drew and really deserved at least a point if not the full three from them but did not achieve it basically because no luck at all, but the team played well there. Today's pitiful performance was really sad to watch, made me angry and pissed off!

Something needs to be done in defense and fast! Carrizo annoyed me today with his minimal goal keeping movement and dribbling skills in front on the Cagliari attackers. Why not put him up front next game Delio? Zarate and Rocchi had bad games - especially Tommaso even though he scored the goal. Zarate would not pass the ball and was easily frustrated. Rocchi as captain should lead by example but he looked really out of it today and was rightly substituted but I don't know why he was whistled off. Everyone has bad games and if this continues then he will want to leave so I hope his performance tonight is left and forgotten. smelling as happens! He even had tears when he was substituted - he shows love and passion for Lazio and the whistling was unneeded! IMO Pandev or Zarate should have taken the first penalty and not Rocchi. Unbelievable how Lazio missed 2 penalties in one frickin match!!!! Pandev was MOM (if I have to choose one) for me today. Foggia and Inzaghi tried to get the attacks going and I thank them for that and Cribari did a pretty good job in defense when coming on to replace Diakite. The rest of the defenders have a pretty bad night IMHO and the midfielders were no where to be seen. Mauri started off very well by assisting another goal but after a while he drifted off but once in a while he was trying hard to create and do something so at least the guy was trying. Ledesma was at pedestrian pace today and Brocchi was not seen much I thought. I think Dabo is a key player for Lazio and he was dearly missed in this match - as was Radu because Kolarov did a very below average job in defense and Rozehnal was not much more impressive either. Lichtsteiner was trying but he did not have a good game either. And Firmani's red card did not help things but at least the guy showed passion for the Lazio cause, so I do thank him for that. BTW what was he red carded for? For coming onto the pitch and yelling? Or did he say something to the referee or Cagliari players? That Conti dick pissed me off, fucking riommanista prick - hope Fabio said something to him! Grazie Fabio!!!!

Bull trap I am so fucked off right now! Its past 5am in NZ.... I got up at 3am.... I have so much shite to do this morning and day.... I had high spirits for this game and we have all been made fun off. I haven't seen such a bad game from Lazio in quite a while - a few seasons probably!

Sampdoria is next and an away match. Not too sure how they are doing in recent weeks but it won't be an easy game at all. Then there is Milan at the Olimpico and after that Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. A hectic schedule and run of games and a good performance here tonight would have been terrific for everyone's confidence heading into the match with the Blucheriati but as mentioned before, shite happens and hopefully all this gets sorted out before then!

I don't get it.... Lazio have had a pretty good season so far in Serie A and the Coppa. We lose one match tonight by quite a few goals at home which happens yeah but we should be able to move past it but for some reason, at least to me, it feels very bad - like there is going to be some problems again like last season in the dressing room. Anyone else feel the same? I really, really, really hope I am wrong though but for some reason I don't feel very good and comfortable with the current situation - despite the fact that only 3-4 days ago Lazio gained a very impressive win against Torino in the Coppa Italia! I just hope whatever the issue is, it gets sorted out fast with minimal fuss and drama because we don't need it. Lazio is just shy of getting into the top 6 and qualifying for Europe and trap like this happens!!!! I don't get it!

This night (morning for me) really sucks big time but it does happen.... looking forward to the next match and hopefully a better performance by the boys!

FORZA LAZIO!!!!

Look at ROMA....look at the way they play. How can we even dare to compare ourselves with Roma? the 4th place surely belongs to them, and if we get the 6th place, I'll be fu**ing happy!

And we have no chances in the coppa whatsoever, cause either Napoli or Juve will crush us, and if not, then inter will f*ck us up in the final anyways.

once again, LOTITO VATTENE!

Just reading Caxi's post I agree that Cribari should get more game time - without a doubt. The defenders Lazio have are all good and talented individuals and most of them young and not as experienced. For the future its good but for the moment not so much. Cribari or Siviglia need to play more often. Diakite is good in the centre but he is still maturing and needs time but I have no doubt that he will develop into a very special player within the next few seasons. If the centre back position is not fully covered then get a player during the mercato. There are a few days left and perhaps Ayala for half a season at Lazio is not such a bad idea at all. He adds skill, experience and strength to the squad. I don't think Lazio need him too much but if the centre defense can't be sorted out then I propose Lotito gets him till the end of the season!

Yes, Siviglia is indeed a dirty bastard of a player who constantly does dirty tricks behind the back of the ref and we need a bit of cynicism at the moment, IMO. He also yells at his teammates from time to time, we need that even more. As for the language barrier I can't recall seeing Carrizo yelling at a defender to leave him the ball - and in this cases whatever a keeper yells it should be understood by default as "leave me the ball" anyway. It's like some of these players have never played together. What happened to good old horizontal marking during crosses - one defender left and one right from the opponent? These days we are lucky if the striker is marked by one defender and extremely lucky if this defender is actually in a better position to take the ball than the striker. Interestingly enough we did okay against rube which tells me it must be a concentration problem at work too, not just orgaznizational.

Concentration was a factor. It was almost like we completely underestimated them. Actually, the Cagliari tactic was not the expected one so I wonder if our defence was left unprepared by Rossi.

cant say i am a very proud laziale today. I was not expecting to wake up to this, now rma have passed us and all is wrong again. How can such a start to serie a lead to this? Sorry to bring it up, but when you loose 4-1 at home to Cagliari there is only one man you can blame.

We also need Lugano or anyone ASAP

Yeah Lotito bring in another midfielder or striker when we need a solid defender, you mothafuker!!

I'm ashamed, as a laziale, to be representin' by these coward of players. A middle finger to every one of you and a big finger for Rossi, that mediocre coach who isn't a Lazio material.

Lazio suffered a shocking 4-1 defeat at home to Cagliari on Sunday, a result that did not please the Biancocelesti fans or president Claudio Lotito.

"We started well and then we were just gone," said a clearly disappointed Lotito after the match. "On the technical side of things, Cagliari clearly deserved the victory."

Lotito though, chose to blame the Lazio players and cleared coach Delio Rossi of any wrong doing on this occasion.

"If we have 31 points already, it means that Rossi is doing a good job," he told reporters. "You cannot criticize the coach, because today the players just didn't perform on the field."

At the beginning of the season Lazio had high aspirations after a very strong start, but now Lotito's club could struggle to play in Europe next season.

"Surely I cannot be satisfied with this and Lazio must understand that if it wants to be considered a big club we cannot have these types of performances," he concluded.

Lazio now sit in ninth place in the league standings.
