Genoa Chief Enrico Preziosi Blasts ‘Cheat’ Francesco Totti
The Grifoni patron has insisted that players should aid officials and lambasted Roma skipper Totti, branding him a ‘cheat’.
Genoa stumbled to a resounding 3-0 defeat at the hands of Roma yesterday afternoon and were leapfrogged by Fiorentina, who moved into fourth place in the Serie A standings.
It was a tense affair at the Stadio Olimpico and both sides were reduced to ten men; Rodrigo Taddei and Giuseppe Sculli were both dismissed in a fractious match.
Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini was also sent-off during the first half after protesting at referee Gianluca Rocchi for his decision to book Giuseppe Biava.
“Let’s just say that we should help out referees, make their job easier, but we should not trick them like this,” Genoa President Enrico Preziosi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Who am I referring to? [Francesco] Totti. Who else? By all means, Roma won fair and square and this defeat will do us good, but Totti is a cheat.
