Exactly. Mazzari is a better option but again does he have what it takes at a bigger club? I like Allegri but again we are talking about someone who before Cagliari managed Sassuolo and Grossetto, but then again every coach has to start somewhere in life. Granted, hes worked wonders at Cagliari. Maybe he deserves a shot.

Bologna is doing very bad. I am sure they will axe Miha no matter what.

Mazzarri led Reggina to survival with a 15-point penalty.

What more can he achieve??? I don't think people understand how difficult that would have been for him. To not only overcome the penalty but also the mental thoughts of the players, that they were set to be relegated before a ball was even kicked. The man is very passionate and doesn't take the kind of trap from primadonna players like Carrizo and Zarate that we've seen this season.

and he has European experience with Samp in the Champions League.

if Lotito can persuade him to leave Samp for Lazio, then I'm 100% for it.

He has not. Samp never played in Champions League, I'm sure you were thinking of UEFA Cup. Samp was knocked out by Metalist from Ukraina.
I belive we can find a better coach. Maybe if he can bring Pazzini with him. Very Happy

Mazzarri could be ideal, as someone said to me, if he can keep Cassano on a tight leash then he may be able to discipline this bunch. On the other hand, I see Allegri as the man who could unite the team.

Let's hope he will be Lazio's new coach.

yea, was thinking of UEFA Cup, my mistake...at the time of typing I was watching highlights of the champions league

but UEFA Cup still counts as European experience.

People want Simeone and he doesn't even have Italian experience.

Lotito expects resurrection Thursday 9 April, 2009

Lazio President Claudio Lotito has claimed he expects a resurrection from his players ahead of Sunday’s derby.

The Biancocelesti will face Roma on the back of three consecutive defeats, which have damaged their position in the table.

As a punishment the squad has been sent to a training camp in order to prepare for the derby.

“We need to react and end our crisis,” revealed Lotito. “Easter is a good time for resurrection and we expect that starting from Sunday.

“I am trying my best to make the players understand this, and I hope our players will find serenity and willingness to battle on the pitch.”

Lotito also believes that the problems Lazio have encountered are only psychological.

“This team has got potential. We could face pretty much every team in the League playing on the same level.

“We outclassed Juve with determination, for instance, and I want to see that spirit again. It’s only a matter of will, if we want then we can.”

Regarding Delio Rossi’s future, Lotito made it clear there will be no changes on their bench next season.

“Once and for all, I want to say something. The media give away information which unsettles our club. Rossi will stay and I think these continuous rumours are unfair.

“I have not contacted anyone else and I challenge every pundit to prove me wrong.”

I predict he is only saying this to keep the team united but if Rossi is still the coach next season, I will walk to Rome and kick Lotito in the nuts! Twisted Evil

Damn. No .....I was hopping that Lotito finally got his act togheter then he comes with this blunder. What the hell does he see in Delio? Why can't he understand that, if we want to make another step forward, we need to change the coach, to change the voice in the dressingroom, to change he idea, cuz Delio dosen't have any ideas left in his brain.

he won't fire Rossi right now and will wait until the season ended, so what he could do is keep supporting rossi (at least pretending to do so) until the latter's really fired.... firing rossi (or not supporting him) right now will throw away the opportunity to win the Coppa...

Or Rossi could be coach next season...

You'll notice Lotito is blaming the players and not the coach. Lotito thinks the failure is within the squad and that Rossi is doing a good job. I am 95% sure Rossi will be at Lazio next season. I'll be stunned if he isn't.

Lol,,,,

Rossi is a good tactician btw..& Lotito knows it...
you can't find easily low budget but highly skilled coach ..

but i think Rossi was fail..he got strong players,,but he can do anything with it.

that's true..the main weakness Lazio are poor defending & no good DM..but he should ask to lotito some new players..or push Tare to give him cheap players,,but good (like Sabatini does).

It's a Catch 22 situation. We can't blame the coach without blaming the players, but the coach is responsible for the players so either we sack Rossi and try again with a new coach or we keep Rossi and sack all our players because it's obvious they don't work together.

I was thinking the same thing Caxi.

I personally don't blame only Rossi for this season. Its a mixture of coach and players. Lazio have a good coach and a good roster this season and that is down to Lotito, so well done Mr President! Some players have shown to be arrogant this term (eg: Carrizo) and it is difficult for Rossi to manage such negativity and get the best out of them - while keeping everyone satisfied and happy at the same time.

Perhaps he has lost his way? Or as you said Caxi, the squad has failed? Maybe he has run out of ideas? It also seems to me like a majority of the players have lost respect and belief in Rossi and his style, tactics, etc and this is reflected in the bad atmosphere, tension and arguments which seem to continuously go on and on. Also, with Lotito not renewing some key players contracts or signing them (eg: Zarate), it does not help the cause at all.

Gaining back the belief from your players and getting them motivated I assume is no easy task and maybe one too difficult in overcoming here. Even though I am a Rossi admirer perhaps it is time to part with him? I don't want to as I still believe he can offer a lot to Lazio and it hasn't been entirely his fault. If Lotito sees it the same way as Caxi and I see it, then Delio could well be on the Lazio bench next season. I also wouldn't be too surprised.

That's true. But if Lotito was to keep Rossi and sack the players it would cost a lot to rebuild. Very Happy

But seriously, maybe Lotito wants to keep Rossi but get rid of the players who aren't committed or don't have belief, or problems, with Rossi. If that's the case then it won't look too good for us. Rossi has had arguments with Foggia, Cribari, Carrizo, Rocchi, Zarate, etc over the past few months, and ex-players who will return in the summer like Zauri, Stendardo and Bonetto also. Some of those players are very important for Lazio and I assume Lotito will see it the same way and won't sell them all off. Its such a twisted and effed up situation.... No

Rossi is a hard and stubborn man... maybe in a certain way Lotito is afraid to make Rossi furious with him, Rossi should have known many Lotito's dirty secrets and as a result Lotito won't treat Delio in a harsh way or he will get the impact of Delio's anger....
So if Lotito wants to get rid of Delio, he'll do it softly...just keep supporting him but not extending Rossi's contract would be enough....

This is just my speculation opinion.. but who knows?? Suspect

Lotito cant afford any other coach that holds better quality than Rossi. I believe we do need a change as it is obvious that Rossi is a man that does not have enough tactical ability to keep our team on a good level all through the season. For some games yeah, but when the opponents learn his tactics he is not good enough to change things around.

We are in a serious trouble. Lotito is not a determined enough president, he has no back up frm the people around Lazio (specially fans) and he has a large problem creating a good feeling inside the club with all the strange decisions regarding negotiations for new players and new contracts. As long as lotito is at the club, just realise that we will not see a team that is fighting for spots above what we are fighting for now. We will also have to get used to a Lazio where players want to stay, but are forced away due to a stingy and strange president. Just look at this season and the situation with some of our most influential players...

If we win derby, then we can wait till the end of the seaon. If we dont, then we must suck Rossi immediately.

Anyway, Rossi will go in both situations. We must start next season with a new coach. If not, we will repeat ourshelves again and again.

i think best job by delio is to resign tonight, as with this doing he can remain in laziale hearts & prevent from firing in end of season, but maybe he dreams to do this job after final of coppa Very Happy
