Anyone ever been to either "Pop Inn" hostel or "Ivanhoe" hostel? They are cheap but are they reliable?

And if anyone has a good recommendation about any other hostel for 25-30 per night it will be very much appreciated

Hotel Sweet Home near Termini is cheap, quite decent, but a bit unreliable, I stayed there for a day (40 euro) but got told the next day, I had to move to another hostel (owned by the same owner), they told me my booking was cancelled, and they're being nice by offering me a place to stay.

I cancelled everything and stayed at Hotel Serena instead, a bit more expensive, but one of the best hotel you could find in Rome (around 60 euro/night), bare in minds it's winter rates, so the price may be slighty higher on april..

You could actually book your accommodation through venere.com, they're quite good, browse around and read the guess rating, it could help you find the right hostel/hotel with the right price

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the help Frederick, although 40 per night is a bit out of my price-range I may very well have to shell it out. The fact is I'll probably come with 4 friends so a dorm in a hostel or anything similar may lower the price. The more money I spend on hostels the less I'll have to buy Lazio gear and help out our beloved club Very Happy

And Belgio, I remember some "stories" about Yellow hostel a few years back pirat

TNx guys, I appreciate it

P.S. Jofo, those are hostels in Rome, Italy tongue

It's located at Piazza Bologna, 3 metro stations from Termini, it was pretty clean and decent. Actually it's even cheaper, the derby was played on Easter weekend so the prices were up...

http://www.youthstation.it/

I recommend it, haven't been to any other hostels but this one is ok.

If you visit Rome, dont go to the overseas hostel close to termini!!!oke its cheap but they mess up everything and its dirty!
I booked for 2 nights but they didn't find me in the resevations. So they send me to an other hotel!!!
they don't speak english and not even good italian! Suspect
So whatever you do don't book at the overseas hostel!! No

Also, don't go to Enjoy hostel on Piazza Porta Maggiore. I don't even know where to start. It's not clean, the beds are terrible, we were in a room that has 12 beds for a start and the owner even brought in an extra bed for some guy, there are 3 rooms in total so there were some 25-30 ppl there depending on the time...

Here's a video I took, if you're too impatient just check out the awesome flushing mechanism at 2:30, and bear in mind that 30+ guests use only 2 of these toilets. The other one is just a tad cleaner.

The owner is friendly and willing to speak English, BUT, it seems that he and his family actually live there, so for the whole three days there was this 5 or 6 year old girl running around, which was freaky on its own, but when my friend was changing his shirt and the kid ran up to him and plucked a couple of chest hairs off him and started giggling I thought I was in some parallel universe or in the Twilight zone, thinking I was still hung over or sleeping, but no No

When my thoughts go back to this trip it makes me feel weak and abandoned when I think of the hostel. No wonder I was sick to my stomach the entire weekend, pale as a ghost.

But maybe it's someone's cup of tea, so go for it if you like that sort of thing Twisted Evil

When I was in Rome, both times I found a cheap hotel (2 stars)and it's a five meters from the Termini. Bed and breakfast in double room 20 euros per person. Nice clean and comfort room.Hotels I found on page www.booking.com ,should be patient and persistent and find very cheap and excellent accommodation.
