If anyone can get the original Italian link I'll be happy to translate but I think the respect he is referring to in terms of the coaches is, when the players don't give a damn on the field they undo all the work of the coaches during the week and in effect, make them look bad I guess. I don't think there is any direct disrespect from players to coaches it's just 'respect' in the sense, the coaches have done their job, now you do yours.

Then the flipside is, has Rossi got his full support?

Thanks Sile. It's exactly what the translation says really. Guess we will see what effect it's gonna have against Siena.

Lotito about Zarate's contract:
"Se lo farò o manderò qualcuno sarà esclusivamente per vedere se c’è la possibilità di rinviare".

Is Ermetico right? Lotito will do exactly what he did with Jimenez....Zarate will never be ours.

I don't want to be right!
I am just feeling what is goin on here and i smell the atmosphere!
One of them ( Pandev , Foggia, Zarate) must leave to make some cash.

Lotito is not able anymore to handle the whole Team ( 38 players!) and he is looking to "defend" his troubles behind the scene.
This gentleman believed to be the market king and master and now all his actions are back like a boomerang!!!

No.... the complete words says about Lotito won't go to "Arabia"(Qatar) because he is very busy recently and in order to redeem zarate he shouldn't have to go to Qatar because the completion of the first installment should be enough only with a registered letter.

He said that he only will go to Qatar or send someone on behalf of him if he wants to send Zarate back.... the habits of the old Lotito, senseless in choosing words...

Is it not possible, at least for one summer, to spend more than to get? Or, you want to tell me that being the 20th richest club in the world Lazio doesn't have money to spend, let's say 25 million in one bloody summer???

'If' we are the 20th richest club in the world, that's usually based on turnover, not profit, and with huge debts and the tax debt we pay every month we don't have that much left.

And the fact that Lazio is now following Acquafresca, is it another evil trick by Lotito?

Lotito has his favourites so there's certain people I can't see leaving.

Foggia has to stay. Claudio loves the guy.
Lotito will want to keep Zarate because that is his find. So if the finances are there, Zarate stays.
Pandev is a big favourite of Rossi's but I'm not sure of his relationship with Lotito. However, Goran says an extension is near so he may stay.
Rocchi is the one I have doubts about.

I don't think anyone really knows how much the buy-out clause for Zarate is and that could be key.

You're right about the first two, although Pandev and Lotito have a great relationship (from what I've read) and Rocchi was the first purchase by Lotito in the summer he bought the club and he wont stop scoring vital goals, he should know this. His contract was renewed not very long time ago aswell so I doubt we would see him leave.

We are now in April, and still no agreement over Zarate. I guess a few clubs are waiting for this month to end and then capture the guy straight away. Lotito being the man he has shown, I would be surprised if he didnt take the opportunity to show his greatness and sign him only to show that Zarate is a player that he found himself. Foggia would be the same.

But we also have other players to worry about. We have a few guys loaned out that will return, and we still have a fairly large squad. There are a number of players that need to go, and amongst them will be a few of the players that today play a major role. My guess would be that Ledesma and Pandev are two players that are close to being sold, if the plan is not to keep Rossi after this season. If Mister is staying, I have no idea what Lotito is planningh player-wise...

Lotito was once described as "like a second father for Pandev" so I doubt we'll see him walk.

Rocchi and Lotito don't get on well but nonetheless Lotito brought him and has made him a key figure in the side so I doubt he'll want to sell him.

Foggia came out a couple weeks ago and said in no uncertain terms that he gets along with Lotito but not Rossi.

Zarate is most likely to walk out of the 4. If we can get Floccari or Acquafresca then I honestly won't mind. Otherwise..

More from Claudio

Quote :
Lazio President Claudio Lotito Promises Severe Measure For Slacking Players
The chief has had enough of hearing excuses and he has leapt into action, threatening his players with severe repercussions if they do not improve their form...
2 Apr 2009 13:49:30

Fiery Lazio president Claudio Lotito admits things could turn nasty if some players do not improve their current form.

The chief is still furious with his squad because some mediocre results over the course of the season have left the club’s European hopes hostage to fortune. Lotito is not ready to let a UEFA Cup place slip through his fingers and he is unwilling to play a high stakes game and gamble.

The president seems to have lost patience and he has threatened to punish those who don't respond to his stimulus.

"I will meet the team in the next few days to talk about this poor period and to stress to the group the importance of dedication and concentration," Lotito told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

"Until now I have always been like an understanding father, but things will change.

"In future I will be a severe judge and I will not be flexible because the team needs to be serious and give fans back what they have received - this has not happened so far.

"And, if it doesn't happen, then I will be taking measures that I don't really want to talk about."

These are strong words from the chief, who is ready to fight uncooperative players sword and fist. Lazio play Siena this weekend as they look to start a final push for Europe.
