Surely this goalkeeper stuff is rubbish? It must be. Daniel and Roman are exactly right, Nando has rightfully kept the position since taking over from JPC (who was still unfairly dropped in the first place IMO) and must continue to develop. There is no doubt Carrizo will go in the summer but why on earth would a average goalie like Bizzari be any good except as a back up player? If this madness is true then we will just continue the cycle of no stability in our final line of defence and keep rotating keepers at every given mistake. With a decent defence this would cause problems, with our defence this will be suicide.

Bizzari will be a back up player for sure... unless Muslera gives him a chance to be the first... we don't need (a man that think that he's) a star player that sit on the bench whining all over the media and disturbing the stability on the changing room...

playing in a top team like Atletico would make JPC learns about European football tactic more than playing on the serie A low team... and he'll gain the confidence too because he'll be accompanied by classy defenders... I can wait to watch his action when Atletico playing against super offensive teams such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Villareal and Valencia...his talent will be tested more than in Serie A..

Carizzo will leave so there is no chance in keeping him.
If we go to Europe then Muslera is still too inexperienced, even though he showes good qualities.

And the games i've seen with Catania this season, Bizarri has played very well with some stunning, high quality saves. If Carizzo is destined to go, Bizarri would, imo, be a good replacement and a good starting keeper.

You are all exaggerating the quality of Muslera, while I agree he has had a good spell since taking over he is far from a goalie that we can rely on. In my opinion he is far away from being of such quality that we need if we are aiming at being among the top teams in Italy and also compete in Europe. Slowly he can turn into a good goalie, but at the moment we have one of the weakest "pair of goalies" in the league and we need to do someting about this.

And for those of you that want to ask "How is he going to turn into a good quality goalie if he is not given playing time", my only answer is Coppa, and one game here or there. With time he can become a player that we can count as safe for his position, but that woll happen in a few years...not yet...

IMO Bizzarri very good. Why not? Look what Gigi Buffon said abou him. In his opinio he is one of the best keepers in Serie A....

The number one 'keeper spoke with the journalists and reports in a press conference a little earlier in the day, where he made some kind comments in regards to some of the other goal keepers in the Serie A.

I think that to be the best at what you do, you must perform on a consistent basis. In terms of goalkeepers, I believe that [Albano] Bizzarri, [Sebastian] Frey and Julio Cesar are up there with the best in the world, Buffon declared in the press conference.

It's funny how we might be trading in the Argentinian no.1 for an Argentinian who is uncapped and 7 years older.

Bizzarri was at Real Madrid let's not forget and although that wasn't very successful, it does show you his talent. But if he comes here, that means he has to be No.1 and Muslera No.2 otherwise it makes no sense. Albano is significantly older than Muslera. Funny thing is, Bizzarri won't cost you games but he won't win you any either. Muslera can make match winning stops but give away costly goals. As a pairing, it would be perfect but if Bizzarri couldn't be an understudy at Real, how can he be here and it wouldn't be fair to drop Nando.

Bizzarri is a great goalkeeper, one of the best in Serie A. He isn't perfect though he does make some mistakes, i'd rather have Marchetti but i'm guessing many other clubs will be after him.

Carrizo going to Atletico is silly. They are a much better team than him going to a mid table Serie A side, agree, but in Spain they speak Spanish. Carrizo already speaks Spanish. I thought the way in which he would gain confidence is by starting to understand the Italian language. How will playing in a Spanish league help improve his Italian?

As for Bizzarri. A terrific goalkeeper. For those of you who said he is not a good enough Serie A player, you must be joking? He has been Catania's best player since he joined. Makes some unbelievable saves. Is experienced. Frankly I can't believe he is still at Catania (no disrespect off course).

As much as I would welcome him to Lazio, I don't know if this move was wise. Muslera has impressed immensely since taking over from Carrizo half way through this season and his confidence is at a very good level. I don't want Nando to be dropped. He has shown us this season he deserves his spot. Bizzarri is more reliable and solid but he is maybe 8 or so years older and if Muslera is dropped as a result of this, how much would it help his confidence?

Marchetti is a great goalie but as mentioned, a lot of clubs are interested in him (like Milan) so it would be very difficult to sign him. Also he is young, just like Muslera, Carrizo and Berni. Lazio don't need another young goalie.

With a GK like Bizzarri, he provides the team with experience, maturity and confidence, and is a great source for others to learn from. Like how Ballotta was for Muslera I believe.

The whole issue is that a goakkeeper needs time to adapt and time to become mature. Being the last outpost comes with som many difficulties and it is obvious that a goalie needs some years before they become the secure player that all teams want. Our big mistake was to purchase two young players from other leagues; we should have bought one experienced Italian and one of either Muslera or Carrizo...

In the link above it is briefly stated that Liverpool are trying to get Zarate, and I have also read it on tuttomercatoweb and tribalfootbal. Rumours, I know, but knowing that our president havent made the decisive move yet makes me more and more sure that we are not going to see the same nr10 next year...I really hope I am wrong...so so wrong...

I also read it on goal.com and tribalfootball.

As long as Zarate is not our player, there will be such of rumours. Thats normal.
I think, Lotito will keep him. He would be very stupid, if hes not buying him.

If Lotito doesnt want to keep him, then Lotito will buy him and sell him in the summer. Im sure that he will buy him, but Im not sure, if he keeps him...

Exactly, at least that is better than nothing. I always questioned Lotito's ethics and what not, but I do think he is a good businessman, so to not sign Zarate would be insane because he has 'profit' written all over him.

I agree, but the thing is that there are only 2 weeks left of this month, and when april is over, any other club can negotiate with Al Sadd...And imagine Lotito in Qatar - I am having a hard time seeing a quick negotiation and a quick agreement. Add to that that he is on holidays at the moment.

But he has said he will sort it, so lets hope he does. Even if he cant afford keeping him, he should buy him and let him grow a bit in value and then sell...
