PostSubject: Zarate deal   Sat Apr 25, 2009 1:36 am

My personal scenario.

In few hours you will known if Zarate will be or not the new " lazio player" until 2012.
The contract is absolutely a foolish slot machine were numbers are running .
Lotito had fight on different tables and different "man in charge" to satisfy himself first and the whole group.
Zarate salary will start from 1.7\1.8 mln up to 2.5 mln. depending on many factors.
The total cost of the whole operation is more then 26 mln. including tax, tips , and dinners....

No one will announce it until Sunday when the President will personally declare it on the media after the match against atalanta or maybe directly from the Stadio speakers..-..

Or......
Al sadd requests are to high and Lotito can't accept this kind of bargain because he is a respectful man and he don't like triks.
Zarate has been a good player that had the opportunity to be recognized in Lazio after being in qatar like a no one.
we gave him all our support but is unecceptable to spend more then 26mln and a salary over our budget and against our rules.
I did my best to convince him and the Al Saad but lazio recognize only true values and we can't deal with such ppl...
Laziali will accept this hard decision and i am sure that we will soon find a new talent.

I wonder...How would Laziali in Rome, in the stadium, react to your second scenario, Erme?

There is something silly happening !!!!

Didn't we agree on the contract pre-hand ? If we did what is this number of 22 million ????

This is outrageous ! With 22 million we can get 4 brilliant players !!!

Do people know that Daniel Agger can be sold for 8 million ?

We can get 4 daniel aggers with the price requested for Zarate. Let him find another team, we can do fine with Pandev and Rocchi. Reports are now saying that Pandev might be leaving, hell yes he should leave if Zarate gets paid 1.5 mill a year.

This is a sign for trouble, if we do this and sign him for 22 million, and then give him a salary of 1.5 to 2.5 mill, then we can kiss all our team goodbye, because no one will accept this, and the trouble will start in the dressing room, and then the whole team would fall apart.

I ask Lotito to back out if the price requested is 22 million !!!! This is so outrageous ! It is scandalous and we need to let it go.

If Lotito knew about the 22 million (because I dont know how the hell we can do a loan with an option to buy without setting the price first), then Lotito should be kicked out for even promising to buy Zarate.

Moreover, splashing such a price, would mean that clubs will no longer treat us or accept that we can get players for less money, we will be always asked for mega money deals with asking for players.

Call me crazy, but I don't want us to be a mega money reach club, Lazio is all about this, the fact that we have to suffer to win, the fact that we live the 90- minutes with passion, the fact that we enter each game and we do not know the outcome, I want Lazio to stay like this, I enjoy the roller coster with lazio, and I want it to stay, it is what keeps me attached to this team !

Paolo, tell Zarate that we are sorry but we cannot afford this, he can go else where, he is no where worth 22 million with all due respect !

And Cash, if Laziali in Rome cannot accept this, then I am sorry but they have something wrong in their heads.... Maybe to them they want a cragnotti era back and I don't blame them, but if I were given a choice of being a cragnotti for a couple of years win Serie A then endure all the sh*t we had to endure, the pain, the agony we lived when we were close to going down to Serie C, or had to add an S to the name of the club to change it and start again and clear the debts, then no I prefer staying like we are now, thats what Laziali in Rome should remember.

Fully behind Lotito if he refuses the outrageous number.

What I can't understand is that we already had a deal in place, and we already paid 3m euros to Al Saad plus Zarate's wages, which amounts to close to 5m euros. By Paying another 5m euros we should have been able to buy half the rights of the player. With another 8m euros to be paid the year after to get the full ownership of the player! What went wrong in this is what I can't understand, the deal seemed to have made sence to both involved in this transfer and by paying 5m euros before 15th May we would have got half the player. Is it that Lotito doesn't want to pay this money, or that Al Saad wants more money due to a clause in the contract saying that they can change the transfer price? If that's the reason then Im sorry but Lotito should have never accepted anything like that, which caused us to loose 3m euros that way.

Lotito will have to rise the salaries of our best players and show how important they are to the team. We can't want to play CL football and give salaries between 500k and 1 M euro's ..

Let's just hope this story has a happy end.

Salary caps should be raised, especially for the "special" one, I would include Pandev and Ledesma in this case. We can't compete with Europe elite in terms of salary, but we could at least try to keep our players happy.

For example, our neighbour roma, if I'm not mistaken, are paying totti up to 5 million euro/season, or Fiorentina who set their salary caps up to 2 million/season. I know we are in a very difficult financial crisis, but IMO we have to spend money to make money, especially for next season, if we were to compete in UEFA cup next season, we should do our best to keep star players.

I do think 2 million euro/season is reasonable for a team like Lazio.

the arabs are robbing us this is the true and if the price is too much we must not sign! Lazio is not yet stable financially and signing Zarate on a high price with high salary will ruin the balance Lotito achieved in the past 2 years. Don't get me wrong - I want Zara to stay but at the right price!

If this deal goes trought then I belive Pandev is gone. We need to sell to give some money back, and I belive Pandev would be a smart move. Money from his sale we could spend on buying Matuzalem, and if Ledesma want to move, then replace him with Verˇn.

I don't like two things about this.

1. 22 millions and very suspicious contract and deal. What is that two more years of loan and 4 million for that .
2. 2012....... scratch 2012 are you kidding me. to pay him in total more then 30 millions for only three seasons. I can bet after that 3 years he'll leave.

Jofo, if Zarate keeps on playing the way he does, in 3 years time he could the next 'Kaka-Man City' saga. I would definately sign him for that value.

Meyo you said we shouldn't get him because we have Pandev and Rocchi. I don't want to think what our season would have been if we didn't have Zarate, the golas he scored out of completely nothing, giving us victories when we were struggling to draw. I like Pandev and Rocchi alot but I think it is time to add something to that partnership and even if it means losing one of the 2 I'd still choose Zarate a hundred times over.

The same goes for Pandev , where we would heave been if we didn't have the Pandev goals?
Even Rocchi after this severe injury and a lot of time spent at the bench , gathered some very important goals for the team. And before one season the pair Rocchi -Pandev-Ledesma was crucial for our survival in Serie A. And as I see it , they are playing for the team , at this stage Zarate is playing for himself and for his value...

Does anyone knows his real price at the moment. scratch

Gio, I'm for signing of Zarate. I'm just too confused about his price and that loan deals for another 2 years.
Yeah he'll be new Kaka-man city saga, but forget article 17. If he sign for three years (I personally think its too little) after 2.5 year he can already made agreement to go to another club.

The sums mentioned in the articles seem to be the total sum of the purchase. We are not to pay this in one installment. All in all, it sounds like the deal that was reached when we borrowed him...

It is the same deal, it was alwyas going to end up around 20m including the initial loan. I just think the payments are being shuffled about so that we own him outright instead of signing 50% of him. That's why we are looking at 2 installments of 8m of 2 years. Don't worry Jofo, there is no loan deal going on, we will own him outright.

Yes exactly, and there is also the fact that it is only inside Italy the 50 % contracts can be made.
