Mancini was laziale when he took job at inter

Mourinho heart is at chelsea

Ancelotti was merdanista when he choached Milan and still is when currently takes job at chelsea

Deschamps was juventini when he brought monaco to CL final

so what's the point? Proffesionalism is more important than everything... Zenga said he wants to coach inter when he's jobless, if he says something like that when he leads lazio then we should get angry with the attitude...

Not the right direction, Lotito. Think else where, please!

Mou's heart is at Porto, but still i get you point :) Zenga would be good to at least motivate our lads!

I cant get this straight. Replacing Rossi with Zenga is in no way a step in the right direction - no way a development. Not at this stage, might turn out good if it becomes a reality for our game and results, but a coach that has openly declared that he wishes to move on to Inter is NOT WELCOME in my books.

Whatever you say about Zenga, you should remember:

1. He's truly a CHAMPION (officially 3rd best goalkeeper in Italy's history after Zoff and Buffon).
2. He's sick in the head (and this is very important to motivate our players).
3. He's famous, hence the players will admire him.
4. He's already won trophies (Romania and Serbia).

So yes, I think Ermenegildo Zenga is one little (potentially very big) step forward for us after Rossi!

If we appoint Zenga as our coach I will give him the chance to prove himself. Honestly i haven't been watching Catania all year and I doubt anyone else was, but I remember from our game against them that I noticed that Zenga was a great motivator, and the fact that he got them to a better position than us with a weaker team means he's not bad on the technical aspect.

Also if he would bring a couple players from Catania to give our team more depth it would be great. I'm just hoping Ledesma doesn't leave now that Delio Rossi is leaving and if he does maybe Zenga could bring the other Ledesma from Catania. I'm gonna wait until it's official....

Totally agree with this..

I dont understand people saying they would be upset with this....he is an ex player..an ex champion..he knows what it takes as a player to scale to great heights...he already has coached abroad...and clearly understands what the Serie A is about...

he is only 49yrs old, so i dont know how we are going backwards as some people suggest...he is big, aggressive and knows what he wants and is passionate!!!!! wears his heart on his sleeve and thats what lazio need..need someone who is going to motivate...and the way catania play they definitely pulled some suprises this season...and for a team who really isnt fantastic, he plucked some players from obscurity and have made them better..morimoto, ledesma etc etc

he is a commanding figure and i really think he is the one we need...not mazzari or bellardini..

Sad to see Rossi go, if reports are really true. As for me I'm still undecided as to who I see as a better replacement - Zenga or Ballardini. At least I believe they are both better alternatives than Del Neri or Mazzari.

Put it this way..

Who had the better squad to work with? Bellardini or Zenga? I would say definitely Bellardini...Miccoli, Cavani, Bresciano, Simplicio, Amelia...To be honest I would expect palermo to be doing a whole lot better!!

Zenga has taken has at least earnt some respect with a club like catania who dont have much of a team and have battled away to have a good record at home the least two seasons and pulled off some good results vs big clubs..

IMO i dont rate Bellardini that highly..And I believe Zenga has a lot more personality which is good for your manager..

Yes, what Zenga holds over must other candidates is a strong character. It may not be the correct personality but it helps to have one at least.

I've stated my concerns previously so I won't go into that today but I wouldn't say Catania have a 'weak' team. There are some very, very good players in that side and you can base that on the fact many are now receiving international call-ups. Did Zenga develop these talents or were they already on the way to being good players? That is the question.

I think Lotito is now looking for a stopgap coach, someone to take the reins for this season with a view to making the contract more important. It's lucrative for both Zenga who likes his exit doors, and our club.

Catania trail us only by 7 points in the standings, and they have -10 goal diff vs Lazio -9.
With the squad lazio have, Zenga Vs rossi = Zenga is much better results wise

It's impossible to compare results like this. Yes, it's very easy to draw conclusions based on league results but I ask how Catania did in the Coppa Italia?

Rossi's career speaks volumes but Zenga's does too. We need to evaluate what Lazio needs right now and if Zenga fulfils those requirements.

Its very difficult to compare, but hes done a great job for Catania in the league at least this season, Last season they were almost relegated on the final day, this year they were comfortable and made their home ground a fortress. So, he made progress with the team in a short period. As for the coppa they lost to Juve, which is no disgrace.

Yes, completely agree with you, just illustrating the point that it's difficult to compare and very easy to have selective vision on this subject.

IMO Catania had a decent side. Never expected that team to get relegated. Just look at the latest Nazionale squad, 2 Catanese and only 1 laziale. OK we have less Italians but they also have some foreigners in their respective national teams, plus a fortress of a home ground.

Zenga for me is a competent coach, Delio has set high standards, but Zenga could probably match them. My concern is he won't hang around long enough to do that and at this stage in the much discussed "project", why go for a stop gap solution. Sooner or later we have to mount a serious challenge on the higher places, not to mention regular European competitiveness.

I am not sure if that's in Lotito's plans...

.

That reflects the appreciation of Lippi for Catania, he thinks that Catania has reached a really good achievement (maybe better than Lazio) so he brings their 2 best players.. if Lazio get the CL place I am sure that Rocchi, Foggia, Brocchi, and maybe De Silvestri would be at Nazionale...

so it's not because Catania have better players than Lazio but because Lippi thinks that Catania's achievement was better than us

Zenga has signed for Palermo, we can all forget about him right now, I am not sure if it's Lotito's fault, or us being so slow signing a new coach, who's next on the list? Ballardini? Allegri? Delio Rossi?

So Zenga is gone. That means logic says we will be getting Ballardini, which for me is still excellent, but after this latest "colpo di scena", don't take anything for granted.

Zenga is the new coach of palermo. So there are Ballardini and Mazzari.
