I want this to be interesting, but I just cant get that feeling. The under 21 championships feel more exciting than Confed...

Maybe its because Foggia is not in it Suspect

I agree that the Under 21 Championship is a lot more exciting.

However there should be some interesting match-ups.

If Italy fail to impress, then surley Lippi has to look to his younger players.

South Africa 0-0 Iraq at Full Time

Probably the poorest game of football i have ever seen.

South Africa are so poor, didn't even qualify for the 2010 African Nations Cup.

Home advantage or not, they will truley be the whipping boys of the World Cup.

A few good players in RSA I would say, but Iraq is no quality opposition and the game was boooooooooooooring.

As I stated above, I am waiting for the Under 21 to start...

What really summed the game up for me was:

3 minutes were added on , and in the 93rd minute, Iraq won a free in a wonderful position, a great opportunity to get everybody up and swing in a good cross, but Iraq passed the ball to the corner flag, ultimitley squandering the chance just to run down time.

A complete lack of ambition and will to win from Iraq.

Oh, I don't have high hopes for the US. I'm just praying we don't get embarrassed. When we're on top of our game, I think we can hang with good teams... but Italy and Brazil? That's tough for most any national side to compete with. So long as there are no stupid squad decisions by Bradley, we can at least play some decent football.

Yes, throw in as many African instruments as you want but please do not subject us to horns that make the sound of a gigantic wasp when played collectively. Surely they will have to sort that out before the World Cup.

With no disrespect to the other sides and in particular, their supporters in this forum, I have to say that this title is a three-horse race. The only question is who will win out of those three?

Surely this tournament must either be ditched or forego a format change.

Confed is just as interesting as the "Club World Championships"...absolute rubbish...and soon the World Cup will become pure bullshit as well, just a matter of time...

Thanks for the support Caxi.... tongue

It was a good old fashioned thumping. I was hoping we wouldn't lose by more than 3 or 4 - given the terrific result in the friendly against Italy the other day - but it was to be 5. Goal predicted it would be Spain 4-0..... not close enough!

I don't hold high hopes for Italia to be honest.

I think that the Spanish are just a cut above. Going to take something special to win this and this tournament isn't special enough for that.

Brazil - Egypt about to kick-off shortly.

Half Time = Brazil 3-1 Egypt

Very good game.

Kaka with a sublime individual goal, before Mohamed Zidan equalised with a good header, the Luis Fabiano scored with a nice glancing header and finally Juan scored with a header from an Elano cross.

The scoreline slightly flatters Brazil.

Egypt have done them selves very proud. I only hope Egypt can recover in there World Cup Qualifying group, and make it to South Africa, because they have plenty to offer.

Brazil look very suspect at the back here.

This is why I have being saying for the last 3 years that Brazil won't in the 2010 World Cup...

Egypt are a good side though and if you told me this scoreline before the game, I wouldn't have been massively surprised.

In a word = ROBBERY!

It was the right desicion to award the penalty and sent the man off, but over 90 Minutes Egypt deserved at least a draw.

Ah well, i'l take great consolation in knowing that the Wolrd seen how poor this Brazil team is.
