I think Lazio should suggest a swap deal including Pandev and Lavezzi since both of them are having problems with their current clubs... it's worth a shot really...

What about German 'El Tanque' Denis of Napoli?

He is a big, powerful striker, and is commonly used as a target man. Very good in the air and has a good shot as well.

Lazio were linked with him for a while last summer, but eventually gave up on him and he went to Napoli. The club look likely to loan him out to an Argentinian side this season as they can't get a reasonable sum for him. He was very impressive at Independiente and did well at Napoli during the first half of the season (as did the entire team), but then faded away and scored less and less.

Excuse my sentimentality, but what is the situation with Stefano Fiore? I heard he doesn't have a club for a long period now...

http://goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2009/08/04/1422117/anthony-vanden-borre-on-the-verge-of-real-zaragoza-switch

Vanden Borre out of favour at Genoa...

Just putting it out there...

versatile, can play in defence and can be a holding midfielder...

again just putting it out there given that Dabo and brocchi are on the wrong side of 30yrs..

I remember Lazio were linked with him a few seasons ago while he was still at Anderlecht.

Van den Borre would be a nice signing - even if on loan. He is versatile and covers many positions. But it looks like he will be going to Zaragoza for the upcoming season, and given that the two clubs have a good relationship (Milito and Zapater deals, etc.), I'm sure the move will be completed soon.

I like him as a player but I strongly dislike his attitude when he was still in Belgium. But who knows if that has changed in the meanwhile..?

For the moment I'm sitting and watching Middlesborough-Sheffield United and I'm just wondering has Huth done any renewing of his contract or statements that he really want to stay in Boro or is he there because simply no one botherd buying him after Boro got degraded? Havn't seen that much of him since he left Chelsea but know he was refferd to as a great talent then, could he be a potential and smart signing for us to strenghten our def?

My friend I raised this very same suggestion about a month ago and have wondered why we have not moved for someone like Huth..

He will definitely leave the club if he wants to play for Germany in the World Cup and he deserves to play for a better club..

He is strong in the air, decent on the ball..and surely wouldn't go for ridiculous money...of course someone like Lugano is a great move should he come to us given there is no fee involved...he is 25 yrs old...had a lot of experience..and to me has always been solid...unlucky that chelsea have always had good centre backs...and was forced to move to receive regular football...

if we sell LDS for 8m, surely this will give us scope to buy a very good defender..not saying that Huth is an absolute star but I agree with Ermin, that it would be a smart signing...Because at the moment we have all these centre back and looks like none of them will be staying Stendardo, Cribari etc Siviglia has to go..at least from a starting perspective...Diakite showed potential and I think can play...But why not look to a strong defender like Huth...?

Latest reports are that Aston Villa are after him..could be a likely scenario given he is in England, adapted to the league and Laursen has retired...

Joking I hope??

The guy wants more than Lugano was asking for in the first place.

and secondly, he is a terrible defender. I'd rather have Siviglia and Cribari anyday of the week.

yea he rejected about 1.7mil from westham. But our season has already started and we have nobody. At least he is on a free and offers a different type of defense.

If I was Lotito instead of exchanging ledesma for kuzmanovic, i would rather exchange pandev for kuzmanovic as pandev has a year on his contract left whereas ledesma has two. But I guess neither will happen knowing how Lotito is. hahaha

He hasn't but there was a work permit application. I have no idea how that went though and it might only have been made in case this deal runs very late into the deadline...which it will.

River Plate Midfielder Matias Almeyda Dreams Of Lazio Return

The 35-year-old has just re-joined River Plate but admits the Biancocelesti colours are still in his heart.

http://goal.com/en/news/585/argentina/2009/09/04/1480101/river-plate-midfielder-matias-almeyda-dreams-of-lazio-return

In the future Matias wants to return and coach Lazio's youth academy!

http://www.transfermarketweb.com/index.php?action=read&idsel=43334

Don't know how likely this would be - especially with Lotito in charge, but still, its great to see club legends like Almeyda say they still have Lazio in their heart and often think about their time here!

FORZA ALMEYDA!!!!!

I think Park Chu Young(AS Monaco) would be a good option for us.
He is not a target striker we need. But he becomes one of the most important players in Monaco.
He would be an Asian Baggio if I exaggerate him, hehe. But his header is better than Rocchi's.
