Baronio praised by my brother (lol), Sinisa Mihajlovic. He thinks Baronio stronger than Ledesma.

Thought Sinisa was going a little far there! He's done admirably though.

He has done admirably indeed. Well done to Roberto. And also that Ballardini recognised and still believed in him.

Very unfortunate to get the red card today. Didn't deserve that.

Yeah, Baronio was very good yersterday. he is always very solid. Not a special one player, but very solid. Ledesma isn´t better than him.

Baronio is always on fighting (we can see that he loves his shirt Very Happy ). Bravo Roberto!

Can we appeal his suspension? It seemed like such an obviously clean tackle.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully Lazio can and do. Ridiculous call.

why mate? Ledesma was not so much better than him? I think that the average Ledesma is on the same level that Baronio plays now. Ledesma was great when his game was going well but how many times did we see it happening? Too few I'd say. Give Baronio a break. He hasn't had playing time too long

Ledesma is vastly superior to Baronio. He can tackle superbly and press the opposition's midfileders like a pit bull. Baronio can't support the defence much, he just not that type of player, he is more of a poor man's Liverani who tries long pass after long pass with very little success. Now, this long balls failure happens a lot to Ledesma too but even when he is a zero in attack, Christian is valuable defensively. Baronio is very often a zero overall.

In my eyes, Baronio and Ledesma belong in different leagues. Baronio is a perfect player in Serie B, or in a weaker European league, but in Serie A he is too slow, too weak, too passive and has far to little fantasy and creativity for his role.

Ledesma might not have been the player that we saw so much of, but for me he is the most influential midfielder we have had in years. He developed amazingly in defence, and there is no doubt we were a lot more creative when he conquered the ball and started an attack.

I think the weak Lazio of this year has made some people actualy think Baronio is doing a brilliant job, and he is when looking at his skills. But overall he os nothing but mediocre.

i strongly disagree , he might play long ball ! but most of his passes find destination ! hes really consistent on offense , but on defense i have to agree with u.

i still can't understand you , Baronio has proven so much until now and yet u call him a serie b player? it was obvious in the past 2 games that our game cannot be playing without him, we were totally lacking a midfielder of Baronio's caliber and yet havent created a single chance to score....

Baronio has been superb. His passing is excellent and even if Ledesma was available I wouldn't bench Roberto. I'd look to field the 2 of them.

Too much of the Buckfast again, mate?

Seriously, it is amazing how we can see his performance as two so different achievements. He is probably the est we have, but that tells us mre about our poor team, than Baronio's quality...

I hate Buckie! Very Happy Thing is, has he actually done anything poorly? He has a brain on him and picks out great passes, has a decent shot and is good at set pieces. Maybe tracking back he could be better and foul less but I'm happy with his performances.

How can you hate the one and only tasty drink to exist in Scotland? I am schocked...

Seriously, I feel that he lacks in all those departments. He is too slow, too weak, no creativity, weak in defence and always a few steps behind in offence. But as I posted above, he is probably our best option atm, and we need to play him - no matter how sad that is. I think we only have to look at our results (and the poor game, not only the results...) and see what players we are fielding and we will se we have too weak players on important positions. And the few players that actually have enough quality are goven to few good balls to work with...having Baronio as starter, and seeing how we suffer when he is gone, I think is the best sign of how sad the situation in Lazio is atm.

Did you never drink Irn Bru when you were here?

Apart from Ledesma, who would you like to sign to replace Baronio? I hope we get Simplicio but Im really not bothered if we have to keep Roberto until the end of the season.

affraid

Gio, I think you're gonna have to develope your thoughts a bit. Wink I see your point and I agree that he is not really poor on anything. Except from defending, which is after all a pretty important part of a midfielders responsability. But superb? Supurb as in constantly playing on top of his level (which I would agree with) or superb as in a top class serie A-player?

Personally I think Ledesma is way better in almost everything. That would not include cross balls and dictating the tempo on the midfield.
